Re: Frontier Elite poor frame rate - booster required!

I remembered Wing Commander Yet another on my rapidly expanding list of must play games that I never did back then. I swear I spend more time finding out about the games and getting them to run on modern hardware than getting down to the business of actually playing them. I think I must be a kind o...

Re: Sands of Egypt - Text Adventure

Hi. I've downloaded the (presumably) final version of the game via the itch launcher but I have a major problem. Every time I switch tasks away from the window and come back to Sands of Egypt the start screen shows again resetting back to the beginning of the game. That screen is also triggered in o...

Re: Trying to find the name of an adventure game

Sometimes this forum can be slow in the 2010s. Sorry about that! Anyway, if you read this whole thread you'll learn that you need an floppy drive controller on your motherboard. I'm doubting you have that considering the age of your OS and what with that particular hardware feature going the way of ...

Re: [Request] WWF World Wrestling

Mods (from some forums) Hate Him. Here I go, reviving old threads again. 14 years old this time! Sometimes I get a little miserable that I should have been doing this years ago too but oh well, better late than never. I'm a little confused about this. Were the (2) disks ever found in the end? I've ...

Re: Trying to find the name of an adventure game

Yeah, a 720kb disk is just standard DOS DD formatted, which an ST can read. That was one of their selling points back in the day. To the "Disk Imager Supreme", we can't all be that good at it! ;) Nah, I'm not sure if it's the drive I'm using. It possibly needs cleaning? I need to do some m...

Re: Trying to find the name of an adventure game

easiest way is get an older PC/laptop that has a floppy drive, then write the disk image to a floppy. USB floppy drives won't work though, it needs to be a PC with a proper floppy drive. He says this but he hasn't been getting nowhere fast these last few nights like I have! ;D In an ideal world it ...

Re: Ranarama

I've just dumped ST Action's Cheat Disk #1 that I found in my collection which contains a cheat poke for Ranarama from back in '89. I've attached the files and the disk's README file to this post and am in the process of finding out how to submit the complete disk image to Atari Mania where they hav...

Why do I think this cover-art has been stolen somewhere? Did Mandarin use it somewhere else, for a more productive progy or something?

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)

Hi again Brume. I need your expert advice. Is it worth running a disk checker on the disks I have that have bad sectors and which progy do you recommend if so? I've found one on a disk but is there one in particular that is trusted to work? Don't want to completely lose anything of course. Thanks!

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)

Unfortunately I can confirm that Cloud Kingdoms freezes on my 520. Is there another disk this crack is on to replace the affected files? Is Propack a big problem for everyone then? I could also have sworn I had this happen to me below on IK+ the other week but today it played absolutely fine. A dodg...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)

No problem at all; very happy to help. :) I'm going through my other disks to see if I've missed anything else now. So far- a large game for STEs called "The Poker Machine" and a disk that sounds like it's gone rusty over the many years... Will keep you all posted! As for the Hotline disk-...

A little treat

Unbeknownst to me, I've been sitting for years on four menus that aren't on the site. To be honest it's been a case of being put off by unreliable 30 year old hardware, a lack of work-space and the knowledge that it takes a fair amount of time to go through all those boxes of disks we've all hoarded...

There's also Phillip Lang's version 2(.3) of Magic Shadow Archiver. Version 1 is listed on the website. Should I be e-mailing datavase? http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/Services/PDA/AtariSTCompression.shtml http://cd.textfiles.com/crawlycrypt2/utility/archiver/msa_2_3/ And a rumour of v3- http://www.atari-...

Re: Atari ST essential software (The List)

Under Disk Tools on the site, the URL for "Image Runner" is linking to an old version, almost 12 years since the updated v1.02 was released by Pera... I mean, c'mon; I've been linking to Floppy Image (the actual name of the app) in my sig for almost that long. http://www.atari.8bitc...

(from http://www.gingerbeardman.com/archive/ ) Archive of http://www.ewtoo.org/~matt/ At the end of 2007, an old web server died. It had been hosting some old sites that were created between 1996 and 2000. I managed to rescue 99% of stuff from archive.org - everything bar a few images really. So bas...

PP menus soon? Heh, I was going to start mouthing off about "completionists" and how the most ubiquitous cracking and packing group aren't really the point of Stonish. And then I tried to find where to download the menus! Not as easy as it once was it turns out! Of course this site has be...

Big congrats Brume; here's to another 30. ;)

Seconded!
Going back to what I was saying before, is the art on the game boxes themselves too small?
Also, when's the coffee-table book going to be published? ;)

Re: The Atari ST magazine preservation project

I try. ;) Mind you, there are plenty of copies of the boxed game on eBay, even a JAMMA board of the arcade original! I guess they're no good because they crop the art too much or are too small? I wonder who did the arcade bezzel (also for sale!), some of which Bob based his work from. badflame must ...
