Re: Symbol listing in Hatari debugger?

The problem with Qt and/or Gtk is that is it mostly unix based. You will have a hard time to deliver a working Qt stack for Win32 and/or MacOS, not to speak about a development environment. Not sure about that, as far as I know FS-UAE users on Windows/OSX are quite happy with the result :) GTK migh...

Re: Symbol listing in Hatari debugger?

And it needs real GUI toolkit, SDL isn't enough for that. Of course a real GUI would be nicer, but you can do also a lot by using SDL. Look at Steems debugger, which does exactly that. And it has the benefit that you don't have to care about two systems fighting your input events. Hi, I agree GUI w...

Re: Steem 3.9.3 problem

In fact it needs T206UK + 4096K to work w/o any problem! Note: With that config theres also no any bad sound in pdx! (in Bugs.txt is mentioned bad sound in pdx to be correct?) Cheers! Great find! Don't think it was mentioned before. Well, it was mentioned in Hatari's compatibilty.html doc since qui...

Re: Symbol listing in Hatari debugger?

People have their own habits :) If you're used to monst (which can display the list of symbol with the "l" key), then having a list sorted by name is fine.

Re: Symbol listing in Hatari debugger?

Done: https://hg.tuxfamily.org/mercurialroot/hatari/hatari/rev/e2d0dfa775f2 I just wonder why listing them in name order instead of address order is more expected. :-) Because it's easier to find a symbol in an alphabetical-sorted list :) Most of the time, you know you're looking for a particular s...

Yes, I also tried "symbols" alone without success, could be an alias to "symbols name" indeed

Re: Odd colors/display med res mode hatari on xbox

Hi I don't see anything special with this game ; it's just that the game should be run in low res, but the game itself doesn't set low res, it will run in whatever resolution you had under GEM before starting it. If you start it from a low res desktop, it will work (tested with Automation 137 compil...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

I hope the attached are working ok. I didn't have time to test. I had a heck of a time getting my cosmosex to cooperate. Here goes:- Boots up nicely in latest Hatari dev build here :) (TOS 1.62, will bomb out with TOS 2.06) Disk B seems badly preserved though, when loading module 'no_sense.mod' fro...

Hi
this is the theory, but it seems others users were not able to create a correct copy despite using the splice mode on track 3 as you suggested.
Were you able to get a working copy by writing back the SCP file posted above ?

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

I read those, thanks. Does this program really require TOS1.02? It doesn't work with TOS2.06 under STEEM, and I think my STFM's are all 2.06, so testing may not even be possible. From a quick test under Hatari, it crashed with TOS 2.06, but at least it's after the protection check. So if you manage...

You didn't commit a new binary, Nicolas? Only a source update at this time, right? No new binary from myself, but there's still the automatic builds that were setup by Christer Solskogen on http://antarctica.no/~hatari/ (latest version is usually rebuilt a few minutes after the changes are commited...

The program works in STF and STE mode ; in STE mode DMA sound is available with stereo and 50 kHz replay.

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Hi Hatari sources were updated today with the required changes to make this program work (STOP behaviour with S=0, specific IKBD program by Troed and fix for timer B counting too many events when in low res connected to a mono screen). With this, I can run the STX version 1.3 and 1.5 made with Pasti...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Interesting. The different behavior with the 020/030 might be not only a microcode issue but also a consequence of the different prefetech. Toni did some more tests when combining with TRACE bit. It can give some "funny" result to obfuscate some code too. Consider this : ; already in supe...

Btw Nicolas, did you read my recent comment on the other thread that STOP does can take 4 cycles only in some cases? When Troed mentioned an issue with STOP, I thought initially it might be this. Yes I saw this other thread from you. On first sight, I don't think any program are not correctly emula...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

PS: I'm sort of sure there's an emulation issue with timing when in mono, and I'm not sure AS correctly patches TOS 2.06. I've gone to color 1.62 to do these final parts. Regarding the mono issue, I see a problem at address $D7EA when the program reads timer B data registers to simulate a wait for ...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Actually it is (almost) exactly the other way around. It tests (sort of, see below) at each iteration and, strange as it might sound, there are multiple iterations even if the new value clears the S flag ... The instruction doesn't explicitly test if the new value would clear the S flag or not. Tha...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Yes, of course. A STOP that clears the S flags can trigger a privilege violation. It is clearly documented by Motorola. I am quite surprised this was not implemented by emulators and that it's the first time we found an example. To be fair with Steem authors, this was implemented but I found it app...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

Yes, that's it. It seems that unlike "andi to sr" which allows to change SR and clear S bit, STOP will do a privilege violation exception (vector at addr $20) in case the requested value clear the S bit, which is the case with "#$777". Yes, of course. A STOP that clears the S fl...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

If it is the privilege violation, it's quite frustrating as I recently "corrected" this in Steem, based on a test case run on real STE. I'm a dodgy ST programmer unfortunately. :( Apparently if you STOP using a non supervisor future SR like here, the CPU triggers the exception. Still seem...

Re: Req : "Audio Sculpture" (STX,...) even not running...

I don't see the same thing. The TRAP 1 should work, a vector is set at address $84 to $6047a, no need to NOP it. What value do you see at $84 ? I agree the problem at this point is that "STOP #$555" goes to user mode and A7 becomes 0, hence the bus error after the push to -(a7) ; but in my...
