Re: Hatari on Pi Zero?

If you haven't tried it yet: Compile Hatari with the old UAE CPU core instead of using the new WinUAE core. The older one is a little bit faster (but also more inaccurate).

Re: Hataroid (Harati for Android)

I will be moving over to the latest Hatari source at some stage, but it will be a completely new app since it uses a different cpu core that currently doesn't have the same performance level as the old core (so is more suitable for newer android devices). The old CPU core is still available in the ...

Thanks a lot for that dump! I've now committed some hacks to Hatari, so we can now load this TOS version there, too:

Are there configuration variables to set a specific resized window size directly when the emulator start ? I tried running the emulator, resizing by hand, then saving configuration to file. But no configuration variable retains the resized window size. Not sure whether this would make much sense at...

Too bad :-( At least it was worth a try...
Looks like you've got to life with SDL1.2 on the Raspi until the SDL folks fixed the problems there... (I hope they are aware of it, otherwise you should maybe file a bug report in their bugtracker)

Re: hatari v 2.0.0 running ultra slow on most Raspberry machines

With SDL2_RENDERER set to 1, the cannon balls gos very fast. But both are pretty smooth, Ok, so if both modes are pretty fast, I was maybe wrong and using the non-renderer mode won't help much with Hatari. Anyway, I had some spare minutes and added basic support for the old software blitting in Hat...

Re: hatari v 2.0.0 running ultra slow on most Raspberry machines

No need to get sarcastic ;-) Estrayk: There are simply two things to consider here: First, Hatari (and other software) is way more accurate nowadays, which needs more CPU power, of course. If you don't need accuracy, feel free to use an older version of Hatari or another emulator (like CaSTaway mayb...

Re: hatari v 2.0.0 running ultra slow on most Raspberry machines

Two questions / ideas: 1) Which color depth is the Raspi using? 16 bpp or 32 bpp? You could try whether starting Hatari with "--bpp 16" makes a difference when using SDL 2.0. 2) SDL 2.0 still has a way of using the old software blitting mechanisms without Open GL. They are just not support...

Re: Is it possible to run System V on Hatari?

No, I don't think that it is possible to run ASV with Hatari. ASV needs an Atari TT, and the TT emulation in Hatari is very incomplete, e.g. it lacks the 2nd MFP and SCSI emulation.

Re: How Can I get a setup Falcon 68030 at 32Mhz

The problem is the following: The Falcon has a register that can be used to select either 8 MHz or 16 MHz as CPU frequency. Hatari emulates this register, so if TOS or a program writes a value in the register, the emulator switches to 8 or 16 MHz accordingly. Now TOS seems to write to this register ...

Registering mime-types for disk images

Hi all, I am currently considering to register some official mime-types (also called media-types) for the disk image types that are used for Atari ST emulation. As a start, I am looking at MSA and DIM images first. But before registering, I'd like to get some thought about good names. My current sug...

Works for me (FF34)! Crazy stuff, it even runs with proper speed! :o Did you have to do a lot of modifications to get it running? Actually, I tried to compile Hatari with emscripten already one or two years ago, but at that point in time, the compiler was not good enough yet to get it running proper...

Re: Hatari 1.8.0 has been released

Ok, so my hack with the extra-check for the longword access was a bad idea. I've now reverted that, and added another circumvention for ignoring the A1 line for the second command byte. The image with the buggy driver now seems to work as good as with Hatari 1.7.0 again.

Re: Hatari 1.8.0 has been released

I've now had a look at the ACSI issue, and the problem was/is that this hard disk driver is accessing the FF8604 and FF8606 registers with one long word access. Not sure whether this is "legal" on real hardware, since it might depend which register content is put on the 16-bit bus first - ...

Impossible Mission II has a glitch that allows you to continue playing after the time is up.
To exploit this bug, you've got to die in a certain room where's a step at the lower left entry.
