To me it seems that the magic isn't a magic. $6024 is the machine code for BRA with 8bit displacement ($24 = 36dec).

Re: PureAssembler and ORG

Hello Thorsten, I do have two copies of PureC. One came with three manuals (Compiler, Assembler and Debugger) the other one with one big manual. That one includes a chapter about PureLinker: https://i.ibb.co/c87P0CJ/PL.jpg You were talking about the -T option? Naturally I will not have DATA or BSS s...

PureAssembler and ORG

So I need to write a little ASM code (C is out of question for this... unfortunately). I want: ⋅ project files ⋅ 68020+ code No problem with PASM. It understands 68020+ mnemonics and I can use Pure C's project files for making the output file. BUT... has anyone ever used the ORG ...

No need for a stencil if you want to solder QFP package. Just look at some youtube videos how other people do it. You just need standard soldering equipment plus 1.5mm .. 2mm desoldering wick.

Re: N_AES030.SYS missing

Thanks Robson. Exactly the one I needed. Finally found some time and a SCSI CD-ROM that can read CD-RWs. I investigated the SETUP.GSC and couldn't find a hint where to put NAES_030.SYS into the source path. So I tried the root and setup found it. Installed N.AES 2.0 with this setting: https://www2.p...

On the PC (DOS) I used VGA-Copy (freeware by now) for formatting floppies. Whenever it marked a track as "weak" then the reliability was at least questionable. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA-Copy https://moenk.de/pages/vgacopy.html BTW: got the same problems over here

It only seems to see 2Meg, or actually it appears to see 4Meg but only use 2Meg according to sysinfo... "Total ST-RAM 4096" "Free ST-RAM 1801" Never had that on a 4MB machine. There are two RAM tests built in TOS. The first just checks how many banks are available and what their...

Re: RAM upgrade

The 8chip (8pcs 514256 SMD) mainboard is probably the easiest to upgrade. I've done it with one of my 1040STFM and if you have access to a hot air station (for unsoldering) and you know what you are doing then I do not recommend the 4MB SIMM solution as it needs much wiring. Replacing the 514256 wit...

Dead simple to build, Falcon test image already included, works out of the box.

Of course it works out of the box: it's a copy of my design.

Thanks guys! I thought that it was for Japanese niché market as they did not use IBM, Macs, STs, Amigas back in the 80s/90s and had their own machines like Sharp X68000, FM Towns... Always hoped to get a disk drive for these disks but in the end it probably wouldn't have a shugart bus either. @fmh: ...

Re: How to install MiNT?

Regarding MiNT and long filenames - you need this stuff only if you planed to use Unix command in MiNT, otherwise long filenames is not needed. I want to use GCC 7.x so I have partitioned the CF card to a couple of FAT16 BGM partitions, two F32 FAT32 and one LNX partition with HDDRUTIL. Is there an...

But I HATE TTPs. Hey, we got mouse support from the beginning in '85. Why fall back to ancient command lines... To be able to unpack archives created after 1998? Sure! Never had problems with STZIP26. Never! But never used it on anything else than plain TOS. You can use one of the GEM fronte...

@arne did you use STzip? Better use zip.ttp for unziping stuff on Atari. Yes, STZip 2.6 Anyway: how can zip.ttp put long-filenames into a 8.3 filesystem better than STZIP? .. STzip is old and sometimes is source of problems... But I HATE TTPs. Hey, we got mouse support from the beginning in '85. Wh...

3rd try with NVDI 5: we got a winner :D
So when it comes to Xaaes than consider that NVDI <> NVDI.

I will try to find my NVDI 4 disks and have another try with them. Not sure if they are still readable.

Thanx Joska

Hi, just an idea about "project 2" (1040): Double- , well better triple-check that floppy ribbon cable is connected in the correct direction. From my Falcons i know that there´s no "security slot" and so the floppy connector can be mounted in both directions... Latz I really thi...
