Re: Enabling ALT-RAM flags?

Regarding "Fastload" (fload): this sounds like a nice thing, but since it's an option, what are the disadvantages of not clearing up all memory instead of just the memory for the program itself? The disadvantage is that a few programs might expect RAM to be zeroed when they're started, an...

Re: MyAES is here!

For compatibility issue, most are link to the use of form_do function, I not plane to fix this, MyAES goal is to not lock at any time the screen and this function is clearly uncompatible with such function, In XaAES form_do does not block any other AES clients. The dialog is placed within a window ...

Re: REminiscence flashback for falcon

But whaaat... how can mxPlay work on the FireBee and not on Milan?! Probably because FireTOS XBIOS is based on GSXB, while MilanBlaster XBIOS is not. If you have some time / motivation, drop me a PM and we can try to debug this issue, it saddens me a lot to realise this fact after such a long time!...

Re: REminiscence flashback for falcon

can you play audio in mxPlay on your Milan? It uses XBIOS only. mxPlay exits silently when I try to play a file. I have only tested the xmp plugin. If so, it should work with SDL as well, if not, you can try different SDL_AUDIODRIVER values Same result with all of the relevant values I'm afraid. Mi...

Re: REminiscence flashback for falcon

Btw is this port supposed to run on Ataris in general, or just Falcons? I just tried it on my Milan but it exited immediately with an error message saying it can't open sound device. I have MilanBlaster XBIOS installed.

Re: REminiscence flashback for falcon

Just tested it on the Afterburner. I really don't have anything to compare it with (no PSU in my CT60 Falcon currently) so I can't say for sure, but the intro sequence looks a bit slow to me. The game itself looks fine though. Sound works, animation is smooth and response is quick. I'd definitely sa...

Re: REminiscence flashback for falcon

Well, maybe some lower-power accelerators would handle this port ( like Afterburner 040 [ there is a good chance it will play acceptable If someone has a complete setup of this I could test it on my Afterburner. The last "CT60-only"-production I tested on it was the port of Mac-Worms, and...

all the way through to actual PS/2 mice that come with a USB adapter, Does this mice work on a computer with real USB? If they do, then your mouse adapter is broken, because these mice should definitely work with it. Ok, you were right... I have taken the power from the floppy post and it did work....

Re: QWERYX on a Falcon

Hmmm... Im confused now. It works on the TT but not the Falcon? Like I said though, the Falcon is using the Atari Mega Keyboard and an Atari compatible Mouse. The TT is using the Qwertyx with a nice AT Keyboard and Genius Mouse from 1340 or thereabouts, but they are flawless. As I said, I don't kno...

My Milan custom case

Just wanted to show off something I've been working on lately. I bought my Milan in 2001 and it has never had a proper case. A few years back I rescued a nice aluminium ITX case from the dumpster, this has now been converted to an AT case for my Milan. I've 3D-printed all the internal brackets and m...

Re: QWERYX on a Falcon

Ok, so there are four wires to the keyboard connector, and the Mega keyboard works. Then there's nothing wrong with the adapter. Only the four wires are needed for a keyboard to work, these are the exact same signals as you find on the TT keyboard. I have no clue why the QWERTX does not work on your...

You need four pins - 5V, Tx, Rx and ground. If one of these is missing no keyboard will work.

$200 8O I sold mine for $50 to a guy who needed it for a project. His "project" turned out to be to sell it on Amibay for $100. And I thought *that* was expensive. Sorry to say it, but I think you'll struggle to sell it at that price. It's not really a popular device. It failed to provide ...

AFAIK the only way (if possible at all) to increase CPU speed above 60MHz on the Hades is to modify the motherboard. But please listen to lp - leave your Hades alone or you run a huge risk of ending up with an unrepairable and very expensive paperweight.

AFAIK nobody has overclocked the Hades. Yet.

I would advice against such experiments though. The Hades seems to be a very fragile machine.

Re: New Internal Falcon PSU Mount for CT60, CT60e, CT63...

I wonder if someone could implement something similar to the switchless Kickstart/TOS switchers? This can be done by using a microcontroller to snoop on the keyboard->Falcon communication. When a specific keypress combination occurs (e.g. Alt+Shift+Undo), toggle the CPU mode and issue a reset. I ha...

Re: New Internal Falcon PSU Mount for CT60, CT60e, CT63...

My solution will keep the original power switch and socket. When installed, a Falcon with my system will look and operate as if nothing has ever happened, and you will not be left with messy power brick to deal with. How do you power on the CT60? Just powering on the PSU will not work, you need to ...

Re: Geneva

"All" you have to do is to compile it with AHCC or gcc. Probably easiest with AHCC, as it compiles PureC code with few changes. However, I'm quite sure that there's assembler sources in Geneva too, and these would have to be converted to ColdFire assembler.

Yes, it crashes on my MIlan060 as well. Fortunately, this is one of the things that probably will be easy to fix when the sources are released.

Re: Falcon Afterburner - Please Help!

Have you looked at EMU TOS? Wondering if the TKROM Driver is able to patch it as it does TOS, or is this something you'd have to play with? Or anyone (Jo) think EMU TOS wouldn't have to be patched on the 040 / AB? I have tested EmuTOS on the Afterburner. It finds and use fast-RAM, but stability is ...

Suggestion: Hook the track up to an Arduino (or clone), and connect the Arduino to the STE's serial port.
