Re: Empty bootable 256MB hard disk image for using with MiST/Atari ST core

If you can boot into Linux, you can create any size disk image you want: https://askubuntu.com/questions/667291/create-blank-disk-image-for-file-storage dd if=/dev/zero of=image.img iflag=fullblock bs=1M count=20 && sync dd if=/dev/zero of=image.img iflag=fullblock bs=1M count=40 && ...

Re: MiST / Atari ST core: random repeating phantom "key press"

This is an issue on real STs. Shows the core is accurate when it reproduces the bugs too. ;)

Re: MiST VGA upscaling experiments

DrOG, have you come across this? It seems on par with the work you're doing with the GBS board and MiST, but replacing the GBS on-screen controller with a Raspberry Pi for better control:

Kortina, check out last post in this thread:

User DialTone seems to have converted midi back to serial with external adapter + FTDI, just needing extra power since midi is opto-isolated.

Re: MISTer - Case v1.0

The i3 clones are a good choice for a cheap workhorse. I've got an Anet A8 and a Monoprice Mini. The Mini prints right out of the box with no assembly, but has a smaller build area. The A8 kit was okay, but with a little work and small expense it can become an excellent printer. I bought the i3 clon...

Re: MISTer - Case v1.0

I added an .STL file to thingiverse combining the Ethernet plate and the logo (see attached zip file). I still think it works best when you use a different color for the logo and glue it on afterwards. Painting it after the print is an option too If you're using a 2.x version of Cura for slicing (o...

Re: minimig core: can't write config

Never had problems with either core saving configs, so it's not the cores. Anyone know if a lifted pin on MiST's SD reader could prevent writing? Give this a try. This is probably the best formatter for SD cards, straight from the SD Card Association. https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ Go...

Re: MiST VGA Compatibility

If you really want 'pixel perfect' get a CRT VGA monitor . Bulky old energy hogs, I know, but the picture they produce with MiST is better than anything I've seen on various LCDs, and much closer to what you'd see on the original systems. But if you prefer the LCD route, I've had very good results w...

Re: Really basic questions

The blank disk_a.st file seems to hang my mist. I downloaded it a couple times in case it was corrupted. I renamed International Karate as disk_a.st and the MIST boots immediately to the desktop. Any idea what the problem with the blank disk a is? Where did the image come from? Perhaps it needs to ...

Yes. When the next disk is asked for, press F12 and load the next floppy image. Then exit the MiST menu back to your game and continue. I do this with Deuteros :D

Re: Apple Macintosh aka Plus Too

Sorry...meant to paste the link to Macintosh Garden . Anyway...Shufflepuck Cafe from the Garden works, but the archive suffers from the Mac compression curse - stuffit archives. It was a nightmare for older Macs that didn't come stock with Stuffit Expander pre-installed. The stuffit application was ...

There's also a really nice mp3 player for dos called mpxplay.

If you start with a U.S. TOS, I believe a MiST with no previous configurations set should boot at 60Hz.

Once booted, set your configuration to whatever you need.

Re: TRS-80 Coco 1/2 and Model 1

I get an "unsafe page" warning if I try to view the page hosting the source.

But a TRS-80 core would definitely be interesting. I remember visiting a friend's house around 1980 to play Space Invaders on some TRS variant. That's the sum total of my exposure to the platform.
