Re: Taskbar called Start?

I've given it a try, although it seems this also needs a more modern setup. Now I at least know the name of the taskbar and where to find it.

Re: Taskbar called Start?

I might add that I have an ARAnyM setup as well, but I find Hatari better for sound, and I'm using it a lot for listening to SNDH files among other things, with Geneva and TeraDesk, just using a folder as a hard drive with extended resolution: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j60/grein/st/genevater...

Re: Taskbar called Start?

Oh, I thought it was something else. If it's Taskbar, then I don't need it, as I'm using Geneva and Taskbar won't run on it, as it needs MagiC or MiNT, as I've read earlier, in another thread. I was hoping it could run on Geneva, but if it's Taskbar it can't. It's not that big of a deal anyway. It c...

Taskbar called Start?

Watching these videos, you can see a taskbar at the bottom, which is called 'Start': https://youtu.be/7la9--tF_Xg https://youtu.be/1c78bU_4zi4 I was just wondering if someone knows where this software can be found? I have tried searching for it, but all I have to go on is 'Start' as a word, which is...

I also find this very unnecessary. I am mostly here and at the AtariAge forum, when reading Atari related stuff, and post rarely. I doubt this new forum will give anything new, that these two forums don't already have.

Re: Most catchy st tune ever

I was going to try out ST Tetris when I came over this great Tao tune again, when booting up D-Bug 54 A Menu. I tried to see if I could find it on YouTube, and here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vARVfoIzua8 It's from the main menu of Just Buggin' megademo by ACF. The tune is called Cultivat...

Re: Thing 1.29 in english?

Does it exist? If it does, where can I find it? I have the german version installed right now. I guess replacing a .rsc file should do it. Thanks! Here is the language files for version 1.27 and 1.29. And yes, it's as simple as replacing the .rsc files. (The reason it takes 1.15 MB is that it conta...

Re: Amiga @wikipedia - history

@dlfrsilver:

I'm totally aware of the split up, but that came as a result of Tramiel buying the consumer division of Atari, Inc. But the loan we are discussing was done before that, when all of it was under Warner. That's what you don't comprehend.

Re: Amiga @wikipedia - history

The other big mistake you make is that Atari Inc. was sold by Bushnell and Dabney to Warner in 1976, which sold it to Tramiel in 1984. It was still called Atari, Inc. under Warner, so how is that a mistake? It is to note also that in 1984, Tramel Technology is renamed Atari Corporation. Which was m...

Re: Amiga @wikipedia - history

calimero is right. It was Atari, Inc. and not Atari Corp. who gave that loan. Jack Tramiel had nothing to do with it. Although later when that deal was discovered, they used it to make a countersue against Commodore, because Commodore was suing them.

Re: ST with 1mb RAM : Maximum usable memory ?

Hi all, Is it possible to know the maximum usable RAM on any ST(e) (any TOS) with 1mb RAM? If yes, how much is it? Thanks in advance. Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but I find MemWatch useful myself to check how much memory I have available at all times. In the readme it stands that ...

I'm currently away from home, but I'll give it a go at a later point. And thanks for the tip by the way.

Re: Best ST joypad?

It is more likely that your joysticks are damaged and not the port as both fire buttons are wired to the same pin on the joystick port. Open up the joystick and swap the fire button mircoswitches if you want to go back to playing right handed. I think you may be right, I don't know why I got that a...

Re: Best ST joypad?

My Atari STE has a partially damaged joystick port, which means that the left button on joysticks doesn't work. So to play with a joystick I have to play left handed, which is awkward for me. So because of that I use a Master System gamepad, which kind of solves the problem, and I think that gamepad...

Actually, the Xenon 2 intro is based on the Assault on Precinct 13 theme by John Carpenter.

This is hard, there are several tunes which plays in my head, at different times, but right now I have these in my mind:

Renegade - David Whittaker
Decade Demo - Boot - Count Zero
Turrican (track 11, sndh file) - Jochen Hippel (Chris Hülsbeck)
Warryorz - Tao

OK, then I still need to use two disks version of the game. Unless I upgrade the disk drive or I get a HxC floppy emulator, which I probably will at some point.

Re: Games on ST that impressed you most?

I didn't really like F1GP until I got the DBug version and lost all the disk swapping! :) It's quite well put together and doesn't look very dated. Well, I have only played it in Hatari for now. So there you can just emulate a second disk drive, where you don't need to disk swap. But on a real Atar...

Hunter - A quite big 3D world were you can drive with car, boat and fly with helicopter. Metro-Cross - It had smooth scrolling. And was a good arcade port I think. Prince of Persia - The body moves very naturally, and good sounds. And of course Vroom was a very good game both technically and playing...

I have taken a look at digital audio workstation software for Linux, and have found some applications. But I'm not so sure how good they are, but are probably adequate for some users.
