Re: Value of a 2U Rackmount case for an ST = ?

This is the one I have, pics are from when I bought it, which was March 2010 it seems. Now you are a swine. Yes, that looks very much like what I have. The bars though.. I dont have those... I just have the very basic outer case top and bottom piece. It does have bits coming down for the external 5...

Re: Value of a 2U Rackmount case for an ST = ?

sounds like a 'keychange' case. I bough the last one they had about eight years ago, I paid £25 I think :) Shhh... pretend you paid a lot more at least! LOL - Seriously though, is that it? Typical... Best Electronics want $499 for one and £295 to post it to the UK, and you got and tell me its worth...

Re: Value of a 2U Rackmount case for an ST = ?

Ok, I will chuck some piccies up when I can. The VGA Monitor thing is the way I had with the MegaSTE, and it worked a treat for sure. Yes, I could knock up another adapter, but, for the last few ... ( insert timeline here )... My priorities have been mostly towards getting my Falcon setup into the p...

Re: Value of a 2U Rackmount case for an ST = ?

Are you saying you've got a 2U rack case specifically made for the ST (with all cutouts made for the connectors, floppy disk drive etc) or is this a standard 19" rack case with a blank (undrilled) front panel which you intend to recase your ST in? Its a 2U case that YES, has the holes ready fo...

Holly crap! I can not imagine what are you going thorough! The funny thing, I suppose, is that all throuhout my life, people have said to me, "BLAH BLAH, do you know what I mean?" and I have always said that I do understand, and sure enough, I meant it 95% of the time, just to be polite. ...

Value of a 2U Rackmount case for an ST = ?

This is just something that really hit me for 6 recently, but I am on the lookout for a case to home my falcon in. I am hoping to buy a Tower from one of the guys here, but what I do have, is a 2U Rackmount case. 2 pieces in 1mm steel. That I dont know why, but I have still got it in my shed. Now, i...

I'll try and take some photos over the weekend. That is assuming it is under the bed in the spare room rather than in the Attic. I am stil lwaiting to hear from you mate? Do you still have it? Do you have pictures? We have not yet spoken about price? I am still definitely in need of a case and I mi...

Re: The game is on (can we make MiNT/TOS this pretty?)

I am unsure that we will have the ability to make the Atari look like the Amiga Desktops. Good grief. Who would want to do that? Well, no, Im not saying that I would want to do it. I also did say that I like it minimal. I use Linux as my main O/S on a PC, and while I do love KDE, I also like BlackB...

Re: The game is on (can we make MiNT/TOS this pretty?)

I have always liked minimal. To be honest, I absolutely loved the Vista / 7 Aero Glass Desktop, but since Windows 8, it has been quite simply, the most utterly disgusting use of visuals, that has EVER happened... Microsoft did that purely because they wanted into the Tablet life style, but as an own...

Re: QWERYX on a Falcon

Does this mice work on a computer with real USB? If they do, then your mouse adapter is broken, because these mice should definitely work with it. LOL in all the messing about I have done, I have not actually checked! Sounds like your Falcon just can't deliver enough power through the keyboard port...

Re: QWERYX on a Falcon

Yes, agreed with the USB-PS/2 issue. When he told me, I knew that the thing was a ploy as you said, to put USB onto it instead of PS2. Thats fine I suppose, but yeah, it would have been better to be honest, but there you go. I have tried a fair few mice, ranging from gaming ones, all the way through...

Re: QWERYX on a Falcon

Hmmm... Im confused now. It works on the TT but not the Falcon? Like I said though, the Falcon is using the Atari Mega Keyboard and an Atari compatible Mouse. The TT is using the Qwertyx with a nice AT Keyboard and Genius Mouse from 1340 or thereabouts, but they are flawless. I do have a USB-MOUSE a...

Re: QWERYX on a Falcon

Oh yeah... There IS 4 too! Dont know why, but I always assumed it was 3? I even went and had a peek and I still saw only 3 wires going into little block, but 4 wires, so for a second, I then was sure that 2 went to one pin, but no, there is 4 wires. 3 together then a key then the 4th. So ok, then as...

Re: Falcon Tower case anyone?

Ah, the RAM that I am using in my CT63 is a big one. I got a ton of other sticks that do fit and are smaller for sure, but righjt now, thats the stick that Rodolfe left in it and it has passed all tests with flying colours so its staying. It does NOT let me use the original case. That said... Sure, ...

QWERYX on a Falcon

Many years ago, I bought a Qwertyx for my MegaST. It is currently on my TT. Works for them both just brilliantly, however, it does not work on my Falcon? Now... There is a small adapter, that goes from the KEYBOARD-PINS on the Motherboard, to give me that same little keyboard port, that the Mega, an...

Re: Falcon Tower case anyone?

Been talking to the wife about this. You know how you kind of answer your own questions when you think you are being a fool. Right, here is a few facts that I need to address... 1 - The top of my Falcons case is over there... Nowhere near the Falcon. This is because, I am using a CT63 that wont let ...

Hi Alexh Yes, that thread you opened, I was also part of it too! - As you see, things have deleoped. I am absolutely interested, of course I am, but, if you can understand, the loss of my original case will be a huge issue, for 2 huge reasons. 1 - What if the tower IS as bad as that post suggests, a...

Falcon Tower case anyone?

Does anyone have a Tower case for the Falcon for sale? Depending on what you have, and what it is, I am definitely up for one? I do have a 2U Rack mount case for my ST thats been dumped in the garden and the shed and then back in the garden, and then in something that seems to attract rust like a ma...

Thanks for that guys. I was very lucky actually... I have broken all expectations to survive because the doctors gave me zero possible chance. A lorry pulled out on me, on my Kawasaki CPG900r Motorbike, ( Mint and just been fully restored ), I hit just behind the front wheel, the driver knew somethi...
