Re: C64 SID Music Demo

Maybe this is what you're looking for: http://www.creamhq.de/downloads.php
Scroll down to find "Playsid". It's the only demo/tool for plain ST that I can recall right now playing actual SID files rather than YM cover versions.

Sorry to bump this without a contribution, but I really hope you find some leads on these. My ST game knowledge is fairly extensive but these do not ring a bell with me.

Marcer is planning an update to his GameDVD with a focus on PD so maybe he's the one to ask about the Peter Zetterberg stuff.

Re: Cyberdrome

btw, I went on to write a novel called Cyberdrome in 2008 (loosely based on the world behind the game) and hope to write its sequel in the next few years (finishing up another sf series at the moment). Anyway, great to hear that someone out there still remembers the old game. Back when I first play...

Re: New ST project - Pole Position arcade conversion

I'm glad you stuck with the realtime scaling. The result is very impressive.

This new batch of feedback you're receiving may give you the drive to improve your port further. If not, thanks for releasing what you have. It's an amazing piece of work already.

Great news Marcer. Thanks for your continued support. I like the plan to sort PD by author/crew. Should make it much easier to find the good stuff :)

Amazingly the wayback machine also archived the files at some point.

I've attached one of the archives here (files, not a disk image). I can't verify it right now unfortunately.

Thanks for the hard work.

Give it some time. Many Atari people only get the chance to log in once in a while.

You're doing great work. I'm sure Lotek, Brume, and many others will be happy to see these too.

Re: Atari ST hardware based coin-ops

I guess this may be a question for someone affiliated with MAME or KLOV. That's quite interesting and I wonder what changes were made to the hardware or software. I have to imagine that ST-based arcade experiences would have failed to impress next to all the high-powered custom hardware present in a...

Re: How many with an Atari 1435?

I use the 1435 as my main Atari monitor. I also have one stored for backup (I can barely justify the space it takes but good compatible CRT screens are becoming very hard to find). I quite like this monitor. A friend of mine died several years ago. He generously left me 2 new boxed 1453 monitors amo...

Windows 7 x64 on my laptop and desktop.
I also use Windows 95/MS-DOS on a legacy machine because I find there's more software available for things like floppy disk handling, terminal, laplink, etc. and the machine has more ports.

In english, "FX" almost sounds like "effects" when said aloud. It's an abbreviation.

Unless of course, you are referring to something specific. Could you provide an example?

Re: working STE with B/W TV output

This could be a PAL/NTSC mixup. If your machine somehow has an NTSC modulator in it, and its connected to a PAL TV or capture card, it can result in a stable but B/W display (as long as the refresh rate is compatible). This has happened to me before, as well as the reverse situation. There are other...

Re: Help me identify some mystery cables

The top one is definitely a MIDI Out - there were a few of these like the Xport1 and gives another 32 channels for Cubase. This is what I was thinking. Maybe I'll just give it a shot (with the top cable). Unless I'm mistaken the only 5-pin 180 degree DIN connectors on an ST are those used for MIDI....

Help me identify some mystery cables

Hey everyone. These two cables were found in a box of Atari ST stuff. I have some guesses as to what they are for but I thought I'd ask here. CableA.JPG CableB1.JPG CableB2.JPG Any clues folks? My guess is that they are either used to interface the ST to an older computer's peripherals/transfer file...
