Re: Falcon HDDriver problems

When I upgraded HDDRIVER it too couldn't find my IDE drive so I went into :

Settings > Devices and Partitions > enabled everything (blackout all boxes).

worked after that.

Re: Falcon Problems

When I took my falcon out of cold storage and booted it up it seemed to work fine but after an hour very weird things started happening, strange keyboard clicks when I hadn't touched anything, random freezes etc. I vaguely remembered reading somewhere (before internet!) that the Falcon PSU were crap...

Re: Help bringing my 1040STf back to life

Look for any dry joints around the yellow caps and give everything a good blast with an aircan.

I presume it all worked (1mb) back when you first used it?

Have you tried a memory tester (tests every mem address)?

Difference between TOS 4.00 > 4.04

All the literature I can find on the interweb seem to bundle these versions into one for it's description.

As there were obviously multiple releases from 4.00 to 4.04 does anyone know what the actual differences were?

Re: NetUSBee USB drivers download

For maximum compatibility, I just create one 512MB partition and click the 'Compatibility' button and configure it as in usb2.jpg. The USB key will then also be readable under Windows and Mac. You may want to create several partitions if you just want to use it as your hard drive. Have you had much...

720 Degrees

Does anyone know if this Atari classic was ever released for the Atari ST as I can't find it anywhere on the game archives.

I'm sure it was (loved it in the arcade) but can't trust my memory whether it was actually available (for ST) as I'm sure i would have bought it at the time if it was......

Re: NetUSBee troubles

Having done more cleaning of the cartridge port netus.tos now passes the diagnostics. I can't emphasis enough how important this is, I spent days trying to get my Hydra (Netusbee with only ethernet) to work thinking it was everything from faulty cartridge port, faulty hydra, broken Sting config, sc...

Re: Hydra (netusbee clone) and Atari TT

Just bumping this thread as I have spent the last 2 days trying to get the Hydra + Falcon to work correctly, very erratic behaviour (hydra lights always on). Sometimes UIP tool would work then not, ping via Sting would work then not, pulling my hair out. Read a post somewhere here (sorry don't know ...

Great tool, just an observation if I queue too many files after a while I see Status as error on the PC end.

Any ideas on troubleshooting?

Using Hydra (works fine with Sting + Litchi FTP).

Re: Ghosts 'n Goblins vs Ghouls 'n Ghosts - Which Is Best?

I know it says Arcade version in the post but as I have only played them both on an ST it must be Ghouls 'n Ghosts for me, superb graphics and really hard, got immersed in the game way too much.

Ghost and Goblins just didn't hook me and drag me in like Ghouls 'n Ghosts.

Re: BAD DMA - Myth or fact ?

Btw, the "1v pulses" are crosstalk from a nearby line while the particular line is in "floating" state. So just another indication for a bad circuit design concerning the DMA stuff. Yep , I really wish the internals of the ST chips were published, it would make life so much easi...

Re: Mega 4 floppy trouble

Hi, - When I power on the machine, the floppy drive light blinks, then stays on and it starts stepping. - After I end up in the desktop without inserting a disk, the drive LED stays on. If I now insert a disk, the LED goes off. (normal?) All normal, mine does exactly that. What floppies are you usi...
