OK, I AM A MORON but i shall leave this up so that others may learn from my failure here's what a wise person on discord wrote: "it sounds like the MiSTer is operating the sound pins in I2S mode, instead of the default analog/digital out mode (which uses the same pins). IIRC, the last switch in...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

this core causes "out of range" messages on my displays, where it didn't used to. if i press the menu button when the screen is dead, the white core background flashes for a second and then then back to "out of range". i had actually played games on this core previously...

Broken Audio Followed Me To New Mister Build!

hey so, i WAS using the acrylic kit with the mini I/O board from A. Villena. i found that the analogue audio jack was outputting totally mangled sound, like roaring static with the actual sound faintly audible. i thought it was a core problem and forgot about it after i hooked up an HDMI audio extra...

OSSC seemed slightly confused by latest SNES core via VGA
like it was negotiating sync and the OSSC slowly sorted it out. so weird.

Re: "MiSTer PC Engine CD & TurboGrafx-CD Begins"

Not to bring down the SEGA CD, but that system like most others add-ons were just that, add-ons. Hell, for me, the SEGA CD is mainly for Sonic CD and the Steam version I paid $1.37 CAD for is complete enough in my book. That being said, the PC-Engine CD-ROM add-on cannot be compared with any other ...

if you want a great game to test with which is not massive, try Shin Samurai Spirits
that game alone will keep people busy for ages

Re: HDMI Audio crackle noise

First, thank you very much for the big SNES update. The audio crackling fix works perfectly with no aliasing, well done! I needed to set hdmi_audio_96k=1 to remove very very minor treble artifact in 48kHz, but now the audio sounds pristine, just perfect. I hope too see the same implementation in fu...

Re: Joystick testing thread

In case anyone beyond me is interested, I just tested: The Famicom and SEGA 3D glasses are interchangeable. They both use a simple minijack connection to the respective adapters and then into the consoles. The SEGA ones are much more confortable and seem like a better effect overall. So if we can fi...

Re: Joystick testing thread

Anyone know what the verdict is on lightgun zappers and 3D glasses using MiSTer and CRTs? I know LL Cool Joy will have both SEGA- and Famicom-style ports, right? So that means we could attach either the SMS lightgun, Famicom (expansion port) zappers, or the Justifier, right? Could any of those zappe...

Re: Would MiSTer ever be able to run a Neo Geo core?

Heh, the Neo CD might actually be easier to implement since it can only load 7MiB at a time :p Super cool idea, the CD titles are more obscure due to the insane loadtimes compared to the carts. But each format has some interesting aspects to explore. The massive later cart-based games always seem t...

I definitely hear this now, pretty clicky indeed

SNES is brutal due to how soft and gentle the sounds usually are, you can hear all those clicks
