Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I would like to make a small and simple feature request that everybody asking for a long time. "Recently Played" list in each core. This is a very useful feature that all flashcarts, emulators, etc. have but mister is currently missing. A small file can be written when a rom is loaded with...

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

The DS4 doesn't have long battery life at all and the bright blue light doesn't help.
To preserve some battery can we make the blue light less strong?

Re: SNES core

Excellent work Grego2d! @Lightwave Yes, almost all the snes library benefits from the Turbo function, even the most basic Super Mario World. Here is the list so far: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/SNES_MiSTer/blob/master/SNES_Turbo.md * Notes are old, it's much more stable now that Grego worked on ...

Re: SNES core

Open the OSD (menu button) to mister save after the game saves, that's how all cores work.
This is done to preserve SD card life.

No need to press "Save/Load Backup RAM",, this is an obsolete function.

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

1. Why direct_video is not in mister.ini yet (HDMI limited 16..255 already is)?
2. To 'overcome' the HDMI artifacts I use 1440x1080 for now, it's 4:3 and full 1080p.
I'm never going to use mister with 16:9 aspect ratio anyway... I know some people like it though. 8O

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

No problem with this mode on my MiSTer. It happens without HDMI cable plugged in so it's not a problem with any display, and it used to work in the past. More than one person affected by it. I have more sever problem with HDMI that was not there in the past either, are you not going to look into th...

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I have problem with custom resolution that used to work on older builds. video_mode=1920,48,32,80,1200,3,6,26,154128 When rebooting mister with this custom resolution I see static screen and OSD will not display. But using this 1080p custom resolution video_mode=1920,48,32,80,1080,3,5,23,138653 and ...

Re: Gamma correction

Attached Polynomial Gamma with 2.3 to 3.0 cure below 50% input in 0.1 jumps, and above that is your native gamma.
Looks fantastic, please try.

Re: LL COOL JOY - when...?

I suggest BlissBox if you want low lag solution now, or wait for BlisSTer or LLOAD (link).
Note that all the above use LLAPI protocol which may or may not be officially integrated to MiSTer.

Re: composite video without moving color artifacts

The code you posted above has no any sync with pixel clock. Unlike external crystal, fpga generated clock doesn't change phase in relation to CSync. Thus the artifacts do not move/crawl,, that's the reason for this request. Big reason for ownning a IO board (and MiSTer in general) is the VGA port f...

Re: composite video without moving color artifacts

Another thing to mention is this will not work with the VGA dongle with direct_video, since there is no way to pass the "Clock on Vsync" through this adapter.

Re: composite video without moving color artifacts

I have this device from Antonio, and I can vouch that it looks great. The ADV724 is probably the best modern RGB->Video encoder, very useful for people who want to use the MiSTer with a CRT that does not have RGB or YPbPr inputs, for authentic console experience. Or even to build an arcade cabinet w...

it was this: sys: back to inverted hdmi clock for better timings. in the Menu core. Before that everything was okay. Genesis core suffers from that too but not snes core. Re: Gamma correction

By 'looks wrong' I mean the middle shades are much too dark compared to pure white,, pure white is used for text and plenty other things (clouds, eyes, etc..). That's the false effect of too high gamma value. To fix this abrupt transition we use polynomial gamma to gradualy return to 2.2 from around...
