Re: SDRAM board

For large quantities PCBWay has good price as it doesn't grow fast with quantities, especially for 4-layer boards. I remember they had no difference (or almost no difference) when i tried to select like 10 or 40 pieces. I don't think you will find out the differece from JLCPCB reply. Most likely th...

Re: SDRAM board

So, you use panelisation from JLCPCB. I never used this feature. So, probably something wrong with this. They may use panelisation software which may alter some parameters. This is the only difference i see. Well, for us larger sellers, it makes the most sense to panelize. I had no problem with pan...

Re: SDRAM board

I recommend to try to desolder the chips from faulty module, then inspect under magnifying glass the soldering of connector. Then clean it again from flux (by IPA or Ethanol). Then solder back the chips again. Inspect by magnifying glass if there any hanging legs of chips. If any soldering point of...

Re: SDRAM board

What you mean by "fail". Doesn't such module work at all, or doesn't pass some frequency? v2.4 has smaller clearance between solder pads and ground plane. v2.5 has larger clearance making it easier to solder. Not sure if this can be a reason. My process for testing as a seller goes like t...

Re: SDRAM board

Ok, I have made a LOT of the 128mb modules at this point. My first order of PCB's consisted of 80 each of 4 layer red and blue XSD 2.4 pcb's from JLCPCB, with JLC7628 Impedance, on FR4-Standard Tg 130-140C with HASL (lead). Out of those PCB's I was getting a lot of failures. like on the blue PCB's, ...

Re: SDRAM board

Does the voltage matter on the 1uF caps? eg. 10v, 16v, 50v? I don't see it in the schematic, sorry. Generally as long as the voltage is above double the maximum that can ever be supplied for the circuit, you are in good shape (or so I have been told, If I am mistaken, please correct me!). Meaning t...

i'm not sure you meant to leave your full name on the silkscreen. Was that a mistake?

Re: USB Hub board

ok, so where are we at with these usb connectors? which one's actually work and are reasonably priced? can we please get a list here along with some known vendors and which versions of the bridge that they go with? Please and thank you. EDIT: upon more googling i started to piece this together: GTC ...

Re: USB Hub board

Ok, found my issue.. I had different solder bridges at a microscopic level (i didn't notice them on the first 3 inspections at 10x) causing issues. Once they were removed all the hub boards were good to go!!

Re: USB Hub board

I seem to be having a very high failure rate with these.. 1/3 It seems that either port 4 fails in one of 2 ways failure 1: (either i plug the device in, and after init the hub goes dead, or port 4 just doesn't work) failure 2: all of the LED's light up a small amount upon powering, and then the chi...

Re: SDRAM board

Ok, so do the mister cores run these chips at 167? because i've now build several boards that get 3-4 errors at 167 withing 20 mins... If this is overkill, what freq do the cores run the memory at? I'm a little panicked that i just got 100 of these winbond chips, and within the first 10, i've got 4 ...
