Re: SNES core

With the latest update of the core, Tengai Makyou Zero should be playable. However, when I start the game, the "spc7110 check program v2.2" starts and tells me to reset the system. I reset the system and the check program starts again. How can I pass this loop and actually play the game? ...

Re: NeoGeo topic

Darksoft pack includes ALL officially released AES/MVS games. And it works right away. There is no point to waste your time to convert the ROMs already included in that pack. Some of us like to use legally obtained ROMs and go the extra mile to make it work. That is all I will say to how you are ha...

Blazing Star has garbled graphic in the intro sequence, gameplay is fine. Tested with NeoGeo_20190908.rbf in AES/MVS mode with stock and Uni BIOS using VGA->SCART. Are you using more than 32MB sdram ? it's in the <!-- ROMs requiring 64MB SDRAM --> category : https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/NeoGeo_M...

I'm pretty sure asking something like this is against the rules of the forum.

smokemonster shut those down recently only leaving the github scripts working, so you can use those to build the packs

Re: Gameboy core

I have a Sony CRT TV that takes 480p over component. I added the code below to my config file and was able to get the Gameboy core to display (very awesome btw ). Because the image size is set to 320x240, it creates a small window in the center of the TV. I thought I might be able to change...

@slingshot ok , got it , yes I missed this part in the sprite.v https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Gameboy_MiSTer/blob/master/sprite.v#L62 Thanks a lot for reporting , guess Xenon 2 sets those bits for whatever reason. edit: will also rename it to isGBC_game in sprites.v and sprite.v edit2: PR sent htt...

Re: Gameboy core

It's possibly triggering the incorrect flags ("isGBC_game") and leaves the GBC logic working (2nd vram bank, etc...), just like the regression I had in the GB mode in the past. I have no idea if it's fully correct or not, but this one fixes at least Xenon2: --- a/cores/gameboy/video.v +++...

Re: Gameboy core

Not again, because it still OK in monochrome mode. But in forced color mode (look nice), the same old sprites are still missing. It's definitely not a palette issue. It's possibly triggering the incorrect flags ("isGBC_game") and leaves the GBC logic working (2nd vram bank, etc...), just ...

Re: Gameboy core

@brNX: I've tried the latest "GB games in GBC mode fix" change on MiST, assuming it should fix missing sprites in GBC mode for GB games. However in Xenon2 (again) it doesn't make a difference. Maybe I did something wrong, or the purpose of this patch was something else? Sorry I may have m...

Re: Would be possible Mame on Arm Soc like ScummVM?

I'm tweaking the Linux part for easier audio playback. I'm adding m3u lists and multi-file playback. In MC you can select several files and then start them to play. Besides the traditional mp3, you can play MOD (including many variations from PC trackers), VGM and MIDI(using fluidsynth). So it's pr...

Re: Would be possible Mame on Arm Soc like ScummVM?

It's clear to me it needs a competent and really dedicated developer, though. We can theorize all day, but if we get a driven person genuinely curious to make the most of the DE10 and MAME, I have no doubts it will be great. But if it's just a dude like me who can, maybe, barely, get it to compile,...

There is no chaos. Mostly vapour fights :) MiSTer recently opened ability to create Linux apps having graphics and audio. I have no idea yet where it will lead to. It's good to explore the ability and performance of simple emulators and graphics capability overall. If it will allow to use some soft...

but it sort of goes against the spirit of MiSTer No such thing. That’s the gist: it’s an open source project/platform, not a closed source product. Every developer is free to explore and test whatever he/she likes, and every user is free to use whatever he/she likes. What won’t be used probably wil...

I keep looking for updates on any start to CD games on the MiSTer, but now it seems the github link is dead? I've been holding off on the expensive SD version for my real NEC hardware in hopes of this. I'd love the TG16/PC-Engine mini consoles to surprise everyone and really take off to numbers tha...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

ScummVM emulates an engine, emulates the exact behaviour of a program, so it's an emulator in that sense of the word. Still that's not the point at all of this conversation here. The MiSTer is as hybrid as the MiST if you want to be pedantic in that way @Locutus, the diference is the MiST uses a mic...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

development doesn't require the buildroot config. I don't want different linux builds to pop around. I would like to see HPS apps as self contained apps installed preferably in separate directories. While it's good to add more functionality i don't like idea to add a lot of heavy frameworks with se...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

I think the main criteria is how precise it emulates the real HW. So why need to divide it? If it works well on HPS then why not? Also impriving the HPS part gives more chance for real hybrid emulation to appear where some parts of soft emulator will be converted to FPGA. Without improving HPS part...

Re: Gameboy core

Alright, the Gameboy core is pretty good looking in RGB but I still like the LCD_Effect filter for HDMI. It's kinda strange because I prefer RGB over HDMI for all cores that support it but with Gameboy, I'm not 100% sure. It's always nice to have options though. yeah, I'm a big fan of the lcd_effec...
