Re: NeoGeo topic

I realize this doesn't really matter but I was able to dump the Unibios v4.0 chip that was in my MVS arcade thanks to help from someone here. It's really neat to see my MVS serial number on boot up and have the newest version. If anyone needs help dumping their bios chip I can help but obviously I w...

Re: Scripting news

If PARALLEL_UPDATE="false" solves the transient network errors and you complete a successful update run, can you try PARALLEL_UPDATE="true" again? In the next runs the updater will check only the repos which have been actually updated so it will check only few repos in parallel ...

Re: MiSTer NES Core

Have you guys tried the TAS nes core? It's pretty neat to see tool assisted speed runs on the nes. I doubt it'll make the official nes core but it's still pretty cool. I'd like to encourage anyone curious about it to check it out NES_TAS.rbf https://mega.nz/#!loIBBCRa!lEoFVk7-TtCK6PzOYLe3LW6Htu_LBKD...

you'll have to do some creative googling to find them. There are modified bios(s) that are region free . People burn them to ROM chips and throw them in real consoles, to make them region free as well.

Edit: I use 2.0 USA

Re: GBA Core porting to Mister

What's the name of the BIOS meant to be, and what's the location? I tried it under Games\GBA (I think the auto-update script created that folder) but to no avail. I asssume that's what it means when it shows the non-Nintendo logo at core start? rename the bios to "boot.rom" and place it i...

This interesting that it changes based on various factors. I've noticed mine changes after MiSTer binary updates. I love the static as my background. I think a still image would be pretty boring.

Re: NeoGeo topic

Does anyone know of a way to save the region and arcade/console preferences with the Unibios free version? It defaults to Europe/Arcade every time I launch a game. Yes, I asked this same question. Once you've changed the region you need to save to the memory card in the OSD. On next start up it wil...

Re: MiSTer on Commodore 1701 Monitor

Hi there, I'm wondering if it's possible to have a video output compatible with Commodore 1701, which would be either s-video or composite. So far my plan is IO Board VGA and this adapter. https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=2509 Would this work? If you have any other suggestions for minimal lag...

Re: NeoGeo topic

When using the free unibios 3.3, is there a way to save the default boot mode from Europe/Console to something else. It's really not that big of a deal, but it would be nice to not have to press A+B+C every time at boot to change it. I like to use USA/Arcade for MVS mode. On a real MVS (MV-1F) arcad...
