Re: NeoGeo topic

I don't have it in front of me at the moment but in relation to the UniBIOS remembering your settings after you've set it up there's a save option in the OSD, I think it's labelled _Save to Memory Card_ or something similar. You can use that to save the UniBIOS settings, there's a _Load from Memory ...

Re: Thomson MO5/TO7

Always interesting to find out about new Classic Computers. These are completely new to me so that's pretty exciting. I watched this RetroManCave video on Thomson Computers which was useful, I'm sure there are others on here who haven't heard of them so I may as well post it here. https://www.youtub...

Re: NeoGeo topic

Nothing but amazed with this core!! I did try a very early build of it what seems like months ago now and although it was clearly very early that was enough for me, just seeing the actual core running on my own MiSTer really sold it to me. I decided then to just leave it until it actually got a rele...

Thanks for reading all that @jotego, I promise I'll never write that much again on here. :D Also thank you being open and considering the bigger picture. It is your project and it's always going to be you who has the final say on what does happen and I know you like to give your Patreons a say on wh...

Re: Commando Arcade in MiSTer

Wonderful work, as always. Thank you so much!! :D Is there any way that you'll be releasing a version of your excellent cores without all the advertising and begging for money? You do have the clean version already. Just don't hit pause . Real arcades do not have the pause button, so just don't use...

Wonderful work, as always. Thank you so much!! :D Is there any way that you'll be releasing a version of your excellent cores without all the advertising and begging for money? It just seems to be handled in a really clumsy way which I find really off putting and which to me runs counter to the incr...

Re: What does "Update framework" mean?

I notice that often updates to core have "Update framework" in the description. What does that mean? Thanks Probably best to think of it as "background stuff". If you're just a user then that sort of update will likely be changes that you may never be aware of although it may fa...

Re: MiSTer NES Core

Rather than using headers as they're used traditionally would it maybe be an idea for the system to create a text database where it saves details of the different ROMs by ROM name and the header details as well as settings for that particular game and refers to the database whenever a game is loade...

Re: Classic Gaming [Discord Server] - MiSTer Community

I've never used Discord before, so I thought to give it a try and read a bit what people are discussing about MiSTer, but unfortunately it does not seem to work for me. What I did: - I clicked on the link - chose my username - cancelled the email nagging popup - read the intro channel asking me to ...

Re: Classic Gaming [Discord Server] - MiSTer Community

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to everybody as I'm a moderator on the Classic Gaming server. To a certain extent I agree that the wiki is in some ways the end goal in terms of information on the project but I say that as somebody who is well aware that many people will just never want to spend ...

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

@Hewhoisred Anything custom made like this is going to be pretty pricey, it's just the unfortunate cost of having to do anything like this. I do really like this but I also like the one that I posted on the previous page, obviously quite a saving with that one but it's also quite clear that it's not...

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

Well, since this is the first time I've ordered front panels with the extruded case option, of course something went wrong. I got my panels, I got the rail kits, I got the screws, but the top/bottom/side panels didn't get added to the order. Oh well, I'll order them separately. Anyway, here i...

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I think the only reason the PC Engine was used is because NEC had quite a long run of gaming computers that all began with PC, those systems weren't particularly well known outside of Japan but it was a pretty powerful brand when the PC Engine released rather than it being a description of what it c...

Re: Scripting news

Definitely for me. It's not that the settings can't be changed already but simplifying that for people would actually be transformative for many people and if there are people who are able and willing to do this then it really makes no sense for it not to happen. I think at the moment the user exper...

Re: Arcade cores

I was wondering if at some point there would also be the option to also rotate the controls with the screen as you usually see in re-releases of classic SHMUPs? I really have no idea how complex this would be to do but as somebody who sometimes uses the rotate screen option without being able to phy...

I've tested this now, it seems to work fine. I'm asking here as there doesn't appear to be a thread for Linux. Wait, one of these is micro USB and the other is a cirular power plug... How do you connect them? As I said, the ones I bought weren't available when I posted that. Mine included a couple of Micro USB to barrel adapters, I'd imagine that many of them won't include them though. These are the adapter...

Re: Newbie questions

Is there anywhere in the UK, I can get a UK plug for the De 10 nano. Rather replace the shaver type adapter You also need to be careful with those adapters as they can often be low level Chinese hardware that isn't really safe to use. I've been using one of these adapters for around seven months an...

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

I don't actually have anything to show yet but after spending ages looking for something that would work well for me I think I'm going to buy a refurbished thin client case from eBay. Maybe a little too big for some but they're cheap and finally settling on a larger one rather than the smallest that...
