Re: Nintendo 64 and other later Gen Cores

What is the advantage of an FPGA implementation on a 3D system that uses a framebuffer already? These systems can leverage modern GPU's to great effect to process and enhance 3d graphics (which arguably need enhancement a lot more than 2d), and with equivalent latency to the original system, unlike...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

Just curious if work on this core has halted? Hi. Not halted, but paused. Sorry, I was too busy with real life I'm afraid. Hopefully core development would restart shortly. May I politely suggest to opensource, Ijor? This core would benefit A LOT from opensourcing! (Scalers/Filters, for example...)

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I use a PSX pad with USB adapter and I am also seeing the same problems as with the SN30 with latest MiSTer: no way to map all directions on the digital pad (it's a PSX pad so it only has a digital pad).
Previous versions worked perfectly well.

Re: Joystick testing thread

Seems the latest update has broken compatibility with some 8bitdo controllers? I have tested the following using both Bluetooth (brown 8bit dongle with psc firmware v1.22) and Direct USB connection. SNES30/SFC30: skipped the tilt functions and hangs after selecting "right" with a joystick...

In the last seconds of loading i see the garbage on screen. So it seems it loads into wrong pages.

Since It seems to work on the MiST port but not on MiSTer, could it be a MiSTer port exclusive error?

That's also what I'm wondering, but Sorgelig updated to latest sources recently.

@Sorgelig: Does this work for you on the MiSTer? Maybe there's an small porting error?

Re: Atari 8bit computer line core

Boot with F8 (option) pressed, after a little while you see only a black screen, press SPACE and then you have to wait almost 3 - 4 minutes for the loading. Loading time are very long for this kind of games that require memory expansion. I have played it last evening on my MiST with latest Mark Wat...

Re: MiSTer NES Core

Just to report that FDS Zelda (original Zelda no Densetsu version) audio is broken. Simply deactivate automatic disk swap (set it to "select"), and let the tittle screen song play. You will hear it has an ungly and strange and heavy vibrato distortion that shouldn't be there. Only present ...

Re: PC Engine core

@Sorgelig: This core has audio problems, in PacMania the percussion channel of the main theme on the first stage sounds too loud and strange. I thought it would be a good moment to mention it since you are investigating audio problems with other cores (CPC, which it seems you just found the problem).

Re: Joystick testing thread

The button combos are now hard-coded with the latest core. Meaning you don't have to map them, just map the normal buttons and skip the "OSD" bind. FYI: I flashed the firmware on the original Red Brick 8bitdo receivers with the latest PSC Grey Brick firmware v1.22 and works like a charm w...

Re: Joystick testing thread

PSC receiver is present as 2 input devices in system: keyboard and joystick. This completely breaks the algo of input device handling in MiSTer. Fortunately it's just 2 virtual keys - i've hard mapped them to OSD button. So, using the 8bitdo SN30, it should be possible to do DOWN+SELECT now to ente...

Re: MiSTer - Case Universal v5.2 - 3D printed

So let me explain: With shapeways you got Versatile Plastic which is a durable nylon plastic. It is as good as you can get it when it comes to 3D printing plastics. It is stable to 160 degrees celsisus! Also tough stuff and laser sintered so you will not get any delamination issues or anything. For...

"Atrennate Reality - The City" that works?

Hi there! I consider this one of the pieces of gaming history, and I am trying to load it on my MiSTer FPGA board with the Atari 800 core, however every version of this game seems to hang before getting into the actual gameplay in "real" hardware (FPGAs are not that real, but electronicall...

They are available on the Atari 2600 on PlanetEmu. They seem to be doing something strange to the video, image is heavily distorted. I don't see any problem on MiST with them. Then it must me a MiSTer thing then. I have posted here because I thought it was the right thread, but it seems that there'...

Re: MSX core

Do you guys know how to set up a keyboard layout for the MSX2 core? It seems to be "part of the firmware" according to KdL himself, but does that mean it's impossible to set up an spanish keyboard layout without a core rebuild? Yes, it's hardcoded in the core. So, would I be able to simpl...
