Re: Mini MiSTer/Retroflag GPi

This looks promising: http://nexdock.com Its not a handheld, but with a small case and battery the MiSTer would be portable. If you really want something like that you could probably find a used a Motorola ATRIX Lapdock in good condition for cheap... People have been known to use them with the RPi

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

There's no tests for the flag_n pin (as it requires an external source). Did you try with the "new" CIA model? (mode = 1). Recently the Timer B bug was added which affects the "old" model. Does not fix the issue :( Reverting back to the previous mos6526.v (Apr 11, 2019) does see...

Re: C64 Core

There is now a port of Super Mario Bros to the C=64. It works very well on MiSTer and supports the dual SID option, although the sprites positions do seem to be a little shifted to the right compared to the background. It may be due to the game using the VSP-technique for scrolling? https://www.lemo...

Re: C64 Core

Maybe the "Timer B bug"? it seems new flag_n behaviour. It can be reverted, I only tested the change with tape loading. I tried reverting this change, which did reduce occurrences of the corruption a great deal, but not completely eliminate it. https://github.com/bbond007/C64_MiSTer/commi...

Re: C64 Core

Just to check if I am the only one - C64_20190415.rbf is not giving HDMI out. C64_20190413.rbf works just fine. Anybody else having trouble with the latest release? I'm getting HDMI video with C64_20190415.rbf on my elgato HD60pro capture card and my Samsung monitor. After updating with the...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I was actually messing with that earlier. I just didn't bother switching it for my latest tests. One thing I did do was switch the term program from PETSCII to standard ASCII, and the corruption was almost impossible to reproduce, or at least a lot harder to notice. That really makes sense though, ...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

This test version is definitely a great improvement. The incidence of corruption is way down from C64_20190415.rbf, but unfortunately, it still happens occasionally. ... Once again, dropping back to C64_20190413.rbf seems to completely eliminate the problem. It tool like 10 rounds, but I did see fi...

if it fixes the UART, then i will revert it in my repo too. this is the proposed change. https://github.com/bbond007/C64_MiSTer/commit/9f77fe9fd2b48eecf3f5bc160fbfc87100f07103 I will run Lorenz and VICE CIA test and compare to C64_20190415.rbf If it seems ok, I can do a pull request... Thanks. I'll...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

At the moment it's not a problem, because when I need to use the Midilink / UART, I just boot the previous release for that session and it works fine. I'm just reporting it so that you know about it. I have the same problem with C64_20190415.rbf. This test build incorporates all of the latest chang...

By the way, how do you connect the toslink cable to the adapter? You have some kind of plastic ring around the perfboard, can you give some more details, thanks! :) Just needs to hold the optical cable close... you could use a ziptie. I had a really long optical cable that got caught up in the vacu...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I tend to vote for the second option, as the speed of the Roland devices was 31250 but the serial port on a PC has to be at 34800. If that was the issue then the problem would also occur when using a real MT-32 or MUNT on windows when (connecting via remote:UDP) or even when using FluidSynth. That ...

I think this core is a x286, more than a x486. try to run Win95 and other 32bit apps on i286 ;) I would agree if Glaurung would have said 386 or 386sx. there is no FPU and "486" in the name does set speed expectation a little high :) There was really very little difference between a 286 a...

Re: NES cartridge support

A better solution would be to create a serial port interface (or even usb if you want) to do exactly the same thing, without needing a cart at all. You can already attach USB MIDI keyboards directly the MISTer for recording and playback with Minimig/ao486/FX CAST cores. No extra interfaces required...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

OS must be installed in order to play games? To play ADF games, you do not need workbench installed. For whdload games, you do. I typically prefer to run whdload games (and demos) for convenience but also like to use (cracked) ADFs from time to time because they more commonly contain trainers and c...

Yes,

add a specific section in MiSTer.INI

[CORENAME]
video_mode=0

if you are unsure with the specific [CORENAME] should be you can SSH in (after starting the core) and type:
#cat /tmp/CORENAME

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I have updated MidiLink in order to correct a bug which was found in the general release (ver 2.5) - when I added support for multiple AT commands on a single line I broke the AT&K# commands for setting flow-control. Also, TCP_TERM_TRANS = PETSKII was breaking q-link (which is looking for "...

It is USB MIDI adapter. Not a sound module. It produces absolutely no sound on it own.

It simply allows you to connect a MIDI module (such as a MT-32 or Sound Canvas) to your PC or MiSTer.

Wow, the Roland UM-ONE is basically a cable with a little tiny rectangle at mid cable. Thanks for the heads up. I have to look into that device.
