With this https://www.ebay.it/itm/352453701724 I should be able to feed the sensor bar with 7V.

Re: Absolute mouse coordinates

I guess you can use it to power an original wii sensor bar? Oh, I totally misread the post, I thought he wanted to use the original Wii Bluetooth module with USB (as someone does with Dolphin emulator for BT passthrough). Ok, ok... powering the original sensor bar by USB. I ordered this https://www...

Re: Absolute mouse coordinates

Could you not just chop the end off an official Wii sensor bar and wire it to USB for MiSTer? https://i.postimg.cc/ZCz8Xhw7/wiisensorbarpinout.png I don’t see the use of this... on PC it is used in order to directly pass raw Wiimote communications to the guest emulated Wii in Dolphin emu, but here ...

Re: Getting Permission denied when running Scripts from USB

Just to add indications: we tried simple "hello world" scripts still getting "permission denied" errors (only from the framebuffer terminal, with SSH it's all ok). Maybe /media/usb0 gets mounted with no execution permissions? @Sorgelig, any idea? Thank you in advance. Regards. Lo...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

From an end user point of view, yes, let's have everything inside a zip / tar file / repo instead of having lots of external dependencies. Are you asking for this? because I think what you are asking its already done... The only nuisance I see with this approach is that (I think) the license of eac...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

It's better not include it into updater. It's better to keep Linux apps separate. Also it's pretty new area for MiSTer. If there will be other Linux apps/games then it can be a part of separate package, so FPGA and Linux won't be mixed into each other. For interactive updater with menu where you ca...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

for long term, it's better to have a copy in own repo. Speaking of which... are you pro or con adding ScummVM_Installer.sh (just the installer, not the whole ScummVM) to the updater additional repositories, so it will be automatically downloaded in the Scripts directory when updating? Re: Would be possible Mame on Arm Soc like ScummVM?

Speaking of which, what about adding to specific cores the ability to load and play music files extracted from games using the FPGA implementation of the audio chips? I.e. adding the ability to load and play .sid files to the C64 core or .spc files to the SNES core. No problem. You can try to make ...

Re: Would be possible Mame on Arm Soc like ScummVM?

I would argue that while it's an open source project, changing the scope of what the device does *is* something that needs to be defined and managed and it *is* something that should not be handled with a happy-go-lucky attitude like Locutus seems to approach everything with. Since we can't count o...

@Locutus73 sure, deflect the issue like you want/will and troll how you want/will, my point was clear and still stands. Trolling? Re: Would be possible Mame on Arm Soc like ScummVM?

projects usually have a goal, any projects, so that's why you don't see someone adding doom to libreoffice and an audio analyzer to gimp. I don’t see exploring retro gaming possibilities on MiSTer chaotic as adding doom to libreoffice. By the way: The goal sometimes changes and/or gets expanded (li...

Re: Would be possible Mame on Arm Soc like ScummVM?

but it sort of goes against the spirit of MiSTer No such thing. That’s the gist: it’s an open source project/platform, not a closed source product. Every developer is free to explore and test whatever he/she likes, and every user is free to use whatever he/she likes. What won’t be used probably wil...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

I suggest to move all required libs (binaries) to ScummVM repo so there won't be cases when some libraries on debian repo disappear. Seems like a good idea - I had no idea they would disappear :) I have duplicated all DEBs to the MiSTer_ScummVM github repo and modified the ScummVM_Installer.sh to d...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

I think it's good idea to include the preconfigured .scummvmrc MiSTer environment is pretty much deterministic. Yeah, we can think to MiSTer as a console like deterministic environment and users should get a default “just works” experience (with optional, not required, customization). The installer...
