Re: Absolute mouse coordinates

While i don't have light gun, i have DualShock4 whose touchpad acts as touchscreen. So, i'm implementing light gun through on it. And it works well (after some using it some time). Great! Tomorrow I should have some spare time to test again the Dolphinbar and report back. Thank you. Ciao. Locutus73

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I can login via network by SSH. Can I get console log from there? Nope. only through USB direct connection. I don't want to say something stupid, but I think that if someone connects through SSH and then performs killall MiSTer /media/fat/MiSTer then he/she should get debug messages as long as he/s...

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

You are wrong. Just plug the PC USB receiver into the Mister, pair a Controller and there you go. The best thing is, you can use up to 4 Controllers with just this one receiver. And the controller uses standard AA (rechargable) batteries. Not soldered propertary li-ion / polymere stuff like in the ...

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

Found on eBay X360 wireless gamepad with receiver - very cheap. Ordered. If i won't be able to fix this issue, then i hope i will get it in 2 weeks and will try myself. IIRC X360 wireless shouldn’t work with MiSTer, the dongle isn’t like an 8bitdo one which pairs and exposes itself as a wired contr...

Re: Absolute mouse coordinates

Most likely lightguns are the same class as touchscreens (note: not touchpads - they are EV_REL). Exactly! I strongly suspect touchscreens are characterized by HID/mouse/EV_ABS, but, again, I might be superwrong. Have you (or anyone) a touchscreen (a RPi one should be ok) to test? The only thing fr...

Re: Absolute mouse coordinates

Your logic of detecting lightguns by EV_ABS is absolutely wrong. EV_ABS is the main event for analog joystick and analog sticks of gamepads. And of course all input devices (including gamepads and joysticks) are HID devices. Many devices also advertise mouse protocol as they may be a complex multif...

You are not correct about mice device. /dev/input/mice is common for all devices pretending to be a mouse.. [...] P.S.: My previous post was only about mouse(trackball). Re: Absolute mouse coordinates

Mouse generates only amount of movement (EV_REL event). Nope, there are some rare pointing-devices/mice, like touchscreens (which are emulated by a Dolphinbar and modern PC lightguns) which exposes themselves as HID mice (see Dolphinbar lsusb attributes here http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php...

Re: custom USB controller adapters

Latest Kitrinx/Rysha NES zapper implementation should work with Mayflash Dolphinbar and Wiimotes, just like all moderns PC lightguns. The act as “absolute position” mice, just like touchscreens and since they send absolute events (actual value with min and max range) they are confused by MiSTer as a...

You’re right. It has a full size HDMI port and an USB-C for connecting all it’s input devices. I think it would work out of the box with MiSTer.

This looks promising: http://nexdock.com Its not a handheld, but with a small case and battery the MiSTer would be portable. It carries all IO, including audio and video, through USB-C, and implements a specific Android protocol... I don’t think it can be adapted to MiSTer. IMHO the best solution w...

Fitting a MiSTer inside? A pi zero is way smaller than a DE10-Nano board.

same problem as K400plus - slim cursor keys. It may be not so important for generic PC use as mouse today has more work than up/down cursors keys. But for retro computers it's crucial. I don't recommend this keyboard. K400r has longer key travel than this MS keyboard. MS is more like notebook keybo...
