Re: 1920x1080 stopped working

I have a similar experience with my Firebee, where 1920x1080 does not work on most (*all* except one actually) of my monitors. The problem in that case is wrong sync polarity. I doubt that is the case here, but I would not be surprised if there was a compatibility-issue with the SV's 1920x1080 and ...

If this project could be extended to allow for other port configurations (Falcon), I bet even more people could be interested.

Re: SMSPlus for the Atari falcon

I was thinking something along the lines of the Spectre GCR and how it works (though I guess that's mostly just mac roms.) Yep. No Z80 in there. Also emulating a 68k mac is basically a case of patching the ROMs and virtualising supervisor mode. It's a lot trickier to re-use the 68k CPU in e.g. a Me...

Re: SMSPlus for the Atari falcon

The Mega Drive contains a Z80 as well as a 68000. It could be within reach for a 060 class machine, but I can't see a generic emulator happening for a stock 68030 falcy. "just" running the 68k code natively is not necessarily an easy task either. I wonder if something like a Z80 in a cart...

Re: Memory protection in Mint

Embracing memory protection means ditching some ill-behaved applications, but once that's done things are very stable. It's also a blessing when coding, since rogue pointers generally leads to a program termination rather than a freeze/hang.

Re: SMSPlus for the Atari falcon

That's embarassing haha... I wouldn't have done it if i knew you had ported <_< Oh well, i don't think it will run much faster My port is not exactly pretty. But it's very playable with joypads. The PSG is emulated using the YM-chip, because they're fairly similar. Periodic noise is approximated wh...

Re: SMSPlus for the Atari falcon

I haven't tested your port, but I ported SMS+ myself about a decade ago, and it does 50FPS on the CT60 (25MHz bus) using 5bpp C2P. It think it drops to 25FPS in TC.

Vectors themselves are data, written as data, cached as data. So no problem there.

Self modifying code - find another way.

And no. It's not expensive. We burn much more cash on everyday crap, and this is a very useful gadget.

Re: How not to use an Amiga

Statistically, the offspring of Amiga users have more fingers than average. They also have furr.

Very handy when e.g. playing the banjo, if shaven properly.
