OK thanks but... Can somebody post a picture of either v1 or v2 (assuming there's a physical difference between them)?

Re: Dead Falcon

yes - 18 and 19 are lifted (but looking at the schematic they don't seem to be used anyway).. 7 and 8 are not shorted (7 is lifted and wired to U67 though but - according to other topics - it's actually from the factory on this board revision but I couldn't find the diagram for that exact revision s...

TT and Crazy Dots problem

After fixing scsi issues I installed Crazy Dots (1st revision) and nvdi 5.0 drivers. It (obviously) complained about NVDIVGA.INF file (and I have no idea how to create it) so I downloaded one from here: http://www.mr2.net/marknias/atari_tt030.html It all worked but the display is not perfect ie. the...

Re: not-so-stable TT

Update: whoever voted RAM... wins ;) I had a look at the caps (the ones close to ST ram chips) and noticed soldering job was rather... sloppy (and it was from the factory). I resoldered them and... TT is like new again! both ultrasatan and scsi2sd work flawlessly (and I copied thousands files to be ...

Dead Falcon

I'm looking for help bringing my Falcon to life. I'm only getting black screen (ie. no vga activity/no signal at all) The Falcon powers up (ie. LED, fan) - I checked the voltages and they seem OK. I checked CPU pin 6 and it's giving me 8MHz (Note: I only have a multimeter that happens to have freque...

Re: not-so-stable TT

I partitioned the card in hdrutil (on tt), moved the card to the mac, copied some stuff, cleaned mac specific stuff (all 'dot' files eg. .Trashes etc) and moved the card back to the TT... So It was TT/hddriver that formatted and partitioned the card.. I'll try do it again on windows just to see what...

Re: scsi2sd problem

4.7.1 seems to work for me (but again - my TT is probably faulty so can't really confirm 100% but the TT detects scsi2sd and partitions, loads stuff etc..).

Re: not-so-stable TT

But the thing is that I have pretty much the same behavior on both scsi and asci (ultrasatan)... If it was scsi2sd then ultrasatan would work OK...

Re: SCSI2SD for TT help configuring!

scsi2sd seems to work with the settings above and it seems to work. One note - I changed scsi flat cable (the original one was pretty long - I replaced it with new 30cm long one and it improved things a lot). But.. I suspect there's something wrong with my TT as I'm still getting strange errors when...

Re: not-so-stable TT

OK - I give up. I don't think I'll be able to find what the problem is. It seems like infamous DMA problem but TT isn't supposed to have that issue AFAIK... Besided - as far as I can see - the files on the drive (both ultrasatan which is ASCI and scsi2sd which is SCSI) are not corrupted (but yes - I...

Re: SCSI2SD for TT help configuring!

first of all - configure just one device (and make the size the largest size of the card you'll use but don't go crazy - 8gb is enough) scsi ID of the device = 1. Select scsi2, do not select parity or any other stuff. In HDDrutil - make a few partitions 500MB each. Do not select dos/windows compatib...

Re: not-so-stable TT

I'm starting thinking it's DMA (both chips apparently)...
Does anyody know what DMA chips exactly new version of TT is using (ie. 32mhz without daughterboard)? I'm away from home and can't check now..
Is there any chance of getting replacement ones...?

Re: not-so-stable TT

unfortunately I don't have one... All I can do is simple multimeter test and voltages seem perfectly fine. I also recapped the PSU just to be sure.. I'm wondering if it's possible that TT has some issues with DMA... Any ideas? Perhaps a recap of the motherboard...? I've no idea really...
