Re: Arcade cores

Thank you for the update of your Super Bagman core. Is there a particular reason why the md5-attribute is called "amd5" in the mra file? Typo of course.... the md5 are no longer valid. I used another function ("repeat" to fill unused space instead of loading unused Roms) in the ...

Re: Mac Plus help?

Basilisk patches a bunch of traps and installs drivers to get almost all the features working. I would like to keep my days of writing 68k software behind me. I am thinking if we can get fetch working it might be the best solution. Because it expects to connect to a Unix server. It will try to do t...

Re: Mac Plus help?

Ash added a second vhd support. I need to check on it. I think serial (and therefore ppp) is the next most important thing. Any better way to get files on it would be great. I will look at the other suggestions. Serial UART support would be awesome. Thanks for looking at it! While messing with the ...

Re: Mac Plus help?

on linux you can instal hfsutils and get hmount hls hcopy etc. You can mount the mac hard drive on linux and copy files, especially binhex files over with this tool. It should run on the mister itself if we compile it. Thanks .. but right now I would just love for the core to have an option to save...

Re: Arcade cores

New Core: Super Bagman Arcade can found here: https://github.com/cavemanxzx/MiSTer-Arcade-SuperBagman It is my understanding that the original goal of introducing mra files was to avoid the step of building roms which was a problem for some users. Although this new core uses a zip file this zip fil...

Re: Arcade cores

I think 1942 is a jtego core. Not sure how to set it up. Ask Bruno. I either get a black screen and does nothing or says missing rbf file and does nothing on Arcade cores I have tried. The same cores I tried with old file structure worked without any problems. Make sure you have the latest mister b...

Re: Arcade cores

This is odd a MISTery, your version of Mister and Menu are OK, I guess the updater does its job (on my side I did everything manually). In such case it is recommended to use the console to see what is happening. So far I never had the need to use it and thus do not know much about it. May be someon...

Re: Arcade cores

I did exactly like above strcutures and now I'm getting black screen instead of kicking me back to the main menu. Some games when loading say I'm missing some file but those same cores ran perfectly when I had it in the old file structure. I ran the build_mamerom script as well to verify that my RO...

Re: Has the HT1080z/TRS80 Model I core been ported from mist? (not coco)

I have a quite complete TRS-80 Model I core with a few different hires boards implemented on a proprietary platform. The FDD was implemented, but using raw I/O (so not much good for MiSTer) and also the IDE interface with Peter Bartlett ROM extensions as well (booting LDOS from CF) again on proprie...

I looked through a large number of front ends. Most of them require some sort of OpenGL. I did not find anything I could compile against the framebuffer.

Re: Arcade cores

Every few weeks now there are folder changers and people have to ask why their system is broken to find out what those changes were. Why isn't the wiki being updated to reflect these changes? Why aren't there any posts here informing people of these changes? I understand your frustration but you ne...

Re: Arcade Multi-cores

It's already implemented in Druaga as you already know. It's done by sending a fake rom with index 1. It's not limited how much data you can transmit there, neither index which can be 1-63. So it's up to you which data you will define for different roms. In your core you receive the rom with index ...

Re: Arcade cores

with an mra, can you remap roms on loading ? i.e. single rom has first half mapped to 0000-07FF and second half 1000-17FF (and is then interleaved with another to end up with everything in right place) You can split the roms. Look at the rallyx/nrallyx mra. As far as mirroring - the mra sends the r...

Re: Arcade Multi-cores

I'm currently porting my Irem M62 core to MiSTer (I know Gehstock started on an incomplete version a few years ago). The core supports quite a few different games, with subtle differences to the logic for dipswitches, crude protection mechanisms, sprites etc. I'm also basing it on the new .mra syst...

Re: Arcade cores

If you want a permanent mra - write a script to embed the rom as inline hex into the mra. It will then be self contained. If this doesn’t work let me know and we will debug it. Also my plan is to have many sections inside the mra to handle the different mame variations. If they release a change we s...
