Re: Hades and Netsurf

There's no reason why Netsurf shouldn't run on the Hades. It must be a software problem. What is your config and what exactly doesn't work?

Re: CF setup

OK so my CF card has died and I've lost everything. So how do I partition the new CF card and what do I need? Is it a 500MB Fat16 partition and the balance a Ext2 partition for MINT? Are you sure it isn't only the FAT that got wiped? I had this happen to me a couple of times. Now, if you don...

I'm not sure but I think TosWin2 needs /etc/passwd and maybe some other files. Have you looked in the documentation?

I find my FireBee's desktop way prettier than any Amiga workbench I've ever seen. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder I guess.

Font antialiasing has nothing to do with the AES. It's a VDI feature that depends on the screen driver. You can have antialiasing with XaAES too.

Re: EasyMint shell?

Thx guys all going good. Sorry if this is a stupid question, with the Sparemint rpm system can I get it to update packages from the command line? If so what do I type :) If you mean updating all available packages à la Linux, then no. There was once a program that did it, even with a GEM interface,...

Re: A good & working net browser?

I wish there was a good coder out there that could make a 16/256 colour netsurf happen. It would breath new life into our old machines. By making them insufferably slow? Don't get me wrong. I like Netsurf and it is probably fast compared to other current browsers but on my Firebee it is so slow I b...

And I managed to find what the problem is. :) In xaaes.cnf file there is: #menubar [0|1|2} #hideable menubar # 0 : off # 1 : on # 2 : always on (default) menubar=1 If I set menubar=1 when backgroud is from Teradesk (igonored background from xaaes) If menubar=2 then it is OK What do you think about ...

Yes of course I understand. but until now I used the settings directly in Teradesk Optiond in menu Window Options you have Deskop pattern and desktop colours, and I have for example all green background. I would like to remove and use the backround from Xaaes. What version of Teradesk are you using...

Yes, PmDoom in Falcon 16-bit mode works perfetly on FireBee with current beta FPGA :D

Great! And how is it speed-wise? Is it fast enough to be playable? I don't remember if there's a CF version of PmDoom but I suppose not?

Really interesting idea. I'll try it as soon as possible. I do have have to mention though that there was already a Rscview from Holger Weets. I think RSCtoPNG or something like that would be better suited to what your program does.

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

FreeMiNT memory protection for 68040 can't be used, but this is not a big problem as it is an optional feature. To me this is a showstopper. I see no reason to buy another "Atari" on which I can't use memory protection. Memory protection is an invaluable tool when you're developing on an ...
