Re: Good Setup For Magic 6?

You can just download the archive of Beekey, look inside the folder casper... There is a file named filesystem.squashfs it's like a .zip and inside you have the config file of aranym & the partitions... Just extract them and put on your Aranym... Ok, I have done this and have this system up and...

Aranym docs say CBHD doesn't work.
I tried SCSITool 6.14 but that doesn't work, I'm looking for 6.52 at the moment, which Aranym docs says should work...

BeeKey https://sites.google.com/site/emaappsarch/news/beekeyandbeepibeta9areavailable No need to do any hdd creation on your own. Thanks I'm reading the manual, it looks good, but as far as I can see it requires booting my computer into the emulated system, and at present, I'm happier with running ...

Re: Good Setup For Magic 6?

I have Aranym running with emutos, I'm just struggling partitioning the created blank disk image (my ICD tools driver won't work, Cecille doesn't partition the drive, I'm now looking for SCSI tools to see if that will work... Bit of a learning curve, all this ;) ) I'll check out the other suggestion...

Good Setup For Magic 6?

I'm trying to find a good setup for a fast, colour productivity environment (programming, graphics/DTP etc) I have replicated my old mono STE + Magic 2 + Gemini environment which works great, but I'm looking to extend this with a nice fast colour setup (TT or Falcon, 16 or 256 colour, larger desktop...

Re: Atari and Music.

Thanks for the link! @I did not know that Emagic/C-Lab Notator (Logic) was developed by Dr. Gerhard Lengeling, former Steinberg programmer! (btw Gerhard work as surgeon! :)) Yes, Notator and Logic were Gerhard's babies (along with Chris Adam - responsible for the score page in Notator - and Clemens ...

No worries, completely understand.

Hopefully some community effort will get more STW issues online at some point...

Re: New Scans - ST World, ST Applications, Calamus User

One of my favorite ST mags. I have almost all issues. It would be great to get these scanned for the community, as they seem pretty rare - good to know that people still have them, before this stuff is lost forever. What part of the world are you in? The UK? The timing's not great for me right now ...

New Scans - ST World, ST Applications, Calamus User

Hey guys, Here are some scans of some of my old Atari stuff that aren't already online elsewhere. ST World, No 53, 1990 (122 MB) (It was a great magazine, ST World, shame there aren't many of these available online). ST Applications, No 39, March 1994 (57 MB) Calamus User was an independently publis...

Re: Atari and Music.

It’s all databased in a custom-built CMS. Each issue has a publication, year, month etc, each article is tied to a given issue, articles have different types, and metadata (like synths or drum machines, or a topic, or an artist etc etc), and other things. So if you search for articles in the “80s”, ...

Re: Atari and Music.

Very impressive site and archive! Thanks! It really was a golden age for the Atari ST, I bought mine firstly for MIDI (C-Lab Creator) but then did *everything* else with it - DTP (Calamus), programming (GFA Basic) - I wrote some MIDI programs too. I'm also ad tagging everything as well (though this...

Re: TOS 2.0.6 not reading NEWDESK.INF on boot

Ok, you're using the Mercurial version instead of Hatari 2.0 release. In Mercurial version, both VDI mode and Autostarting use virtual INF file overriding, and it works even if you're booting from somewhere else than GEMDOS HD. Ok. Yes, I'm using one of the latest versions of Hatari with OSX MIDI s...

Re: Atari ST Review archive - new address www.AtariSTReview.com

I had some help from others on the forum and could not have achieved it without them. Just my way of contributing to the A...

Re: Atari and Music.

Indeed!

Note - I run an archive of 80s/90s music magazines at http://www.muzines.co.uk - there are plenty of Atari ST music software and peripheral reviews and features, so if you like the music tech of that time, it's a goldmine of stuff!

Re: TOS 2.0.6 not reading NEWDSK.INF on boot

If you use autostartup, Hatari generates the INF file from scratch that tells TOS to start the given program. In the Mercurial version of Hatari it will modify the existing INF file instead. Ok, I see, thanks for the explanation. To find out what actually happens, you can use Hatari's "--trace...

Re: Atari and Music.

It would be very interesting to know where the members of this great team continued to work, as well as the pioneers of C-Lab (eMagic), Dr. T´s and Steinberg. I don't know whether Charlie Steinberg is still involved with the company, but I'm fairly sure that there are still original developers who ...

TOS 2.0.6 not reading NEWDESK.INF on boot [solved]

Hey guys, I'm setting up Hatari 2 - STE, mono mode, an ICD-formatted drive image (5 partitions, booting from C, booted with ICDBOOT.SYS) and one GEMDOS drive, TOS 2.0.6. It's pretty much working great, so far. However, when the emulated ST boots, the desktop is not reading the saved newdesk...

Re: Hatari MIDI for OSX and Windows

Holy crap, MIDI in Hatari *finally* works in OSX - huzzah!

Thanks for everyone for implementing this - made me really happy!

I just had Snoize Sysex librarian transmitting sysex from OSX into my old "Dump It!" sysex program running in Hatari, and vice versa - it works great!
