Re: Issue with copying large directory trees from GEMDOS drive do ACSI partition

Ah, Kobold is a nice hint. I am using a Mupfel script right now, but Kobold should do the same job very much faster (within seconds and not minutes).

Re: Issue with copying large directory trees from GEMDOS drive do ACSI partition

On host side, Hatari can only keep track of 256 DTAs: https://git.tuxfamily.org/hatari/hatari.git/tree/src/gemdos.c?id=v2.2.1#n103 How do you crazy guy come up with something like that off the cuff? I just recompiled Hatari after increasing MAX_DTAS_FILES from 256 to 2048 and everything is fine (ev...

Re: Issue with copying large directory trees from GEMDOS drive do ACSI partition

@ThorstenOtto: You are right with the number of files and the byte count. I checked the tree in my DOS box with "attrib /s /d", but there are no hidden or system files or directories. GEM's file info shows 313 folders / 795 files / 11345097 bytes on the GEMDOS drive, but 315 / 800 / 115706...

Issue with copying large directory trees from GEMDOS drive do ACSI partition

I discovered an issue with GEMDOS drives (mapped host directories). Am using such a drive to exchange files via FTP between my PC and Hatari on my Raspberry Pi. The host directory is mapped to GEMDOS drive K. When I try to copy large directory trees from K to an ACSI partition, only a portion of the...

Re: Convert Atari plain text ASCII to PC ASCII

Codepage 437 is a DOS codepage and not completely identical to atari encoding. Notably, the sharp s (ß) is encoded as 0xe1 in cp437, but 0x9f in atarist. There are other differences of course (like box drawings used in cp437, where atarist mostly has the hebrew glyphs). CP437 simply doesn't make a ...

Re: Syncing ST/STE clock with host

I just want to ensure compatibility. But I think I can solve this problem with a host process (e.g. shell script) which writes the time to a file every two seconds and an AUTO folder program that reads this file.

Syncing ST/STE clock with host

Is it possible to synchronize the clock of an ST/STE with the host to have the current time? As these machines don't have native RTC, I would like to use an AUTO folder programme, for example, as I used to do back in 1990 to read the RTC of the attached hard disk host adapter. Maybe Hatari offers a ...

Re: Raspberry Pi keyboard issue

Even changing the 0 in the SDL keymap to SDLK_LESS doesn't change anything of the behavior. And because I need do remap some keys, I cannot use the scancode mode in Hatari.

I think I will keep my sledgehammer. Nevertheless, thank you very much.

Re: Raspberry Pi keyboard issue

SDL2 doesn't support the fbcon driver any more. RPI is used instead. Running the patched hatari with "--trace keymap", these lines are shown when hitting the key: key down: sym=0 scan=100 mod=0x0 name='' key map: sym=0x0 to ST-scan=0xff key up: sym=0 scan=100 mod=0x0 name='' Why is sym = 0...

That patch fixes the issue with the Hatari menu coming up, but the key is not recognized as what it is because the sym value remains 0.

Re: Raspberry Pi keyboard issue

That's true, Thorsten. The keyboard event struct contains sym = 0 and scancode = 100. The scancode value is correct, but the mapping is missing. Hatari always assumes the key to be a shortcut if sym = 0 and opens the menu as 0 is no valid shortcut. For me I could solve that issue by taking a sledgeh...

Raspberry Pi keyboard issue

I am running Hatari 2.0.0 on my BeePi machine which is a Pi 3B with pre-installed Hatari 2.0.0. I am using a German keyboard and pressing the "<>" key opens Hatari's menu instead of the character being printed. The key is is located next to the left Shift key and I know that it is missing ...

Re: Alternative modifier keys

In this case I'd modify the Leonardo code to generate an Alt event when a certain key combination or sequence is pressed. E.g. a triple press on Alternate simulates a hold down Right Alt, another press on Alt releases it. That's a great idea. I modified the code so that the combination of ...

Year 2038 problem

With respect to library development, are there already any considerations regarding the Year 2038 problem ? Of course, we are still about 18 years away from that incident, but we all know that we will then still be using our Ataris and emulators. The GEMDOS clock can handle dates until December 31, ...

I think you can use qed for editing. But you have to keep in mind that the columns of a line have certain meanings (1-6 = line number, asterisk in 7 = comment, indentation in data division etc).
