Re: A new friend for my Falcon...

Another metal case, just smaller enough to fit in the one showed.

...and, inside that second case, there is the thing whose name is handwritten in black just below the handle !

Re: Vectrex core

Btw, i see you use different MPFE config. I found HPS tends to hang if MPFE config changed between cores. That's why all my cores use the same config. And i couldn't find the way to reset it or safely re-configure without hang either in current core or in the core loaded next. Yes, in the latest ve...

Re: Vectrex core

It would be greatly appreciated should anyone port this over to MIST. :) This core needs lots of RAM bandwidth for video. But it could be significantly reduced. To port to the MIST, a fast SDRAM controller, supporting burst transfers, ideally with a 32bits AVALON interface, is needed. I would like ...

Re: Vectrex core

Is there any information on how to use this core? Do the ROMs need any certain extension? Do they go in the same folder as the core itself? Are there any limitations? I always liked the Vectrex! Thanks! There is an internal game, "Minestorm", which is included in the FPGA. Additional game...

Re: Vectrex core

Actually re-loading FPGA at runtime is not intended by Altera, so there are some limitations what you can change in bridges between cores (to avoid ARM hang). The problem with memory seems now solved, I've just recovered your original "sysmem.sv" ! I wanted to have 3 32bits interfaces (vi...

Re: Vectrex core

If you are part of Temlib, then may be you will port your Sparc core to DE10-nano as well? ;) The next version of the SparcStation is not ready yet, there is a new quite complex part which needs to be fixed. This new part is very important for the next steps. Besides the Xilinx SP605 board, the Ter...

Re: Vectrex core

I use a Logitech F310 gamepad.
You need a joystick with analog inputs.

Original Vectrex had 2 analog inputs and 4 buttons on each of the two pads.

I added a pause button to freeze image to check rendering.

Vectrex core

Hello. Here is a little update for the Vectrex core. http://temlib.org/pub/mister/ Sorry for the delay, I was very, very busy. (the core was first cited there : http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=117&t=32481#p330325 ) This new version now delivers sound on the HDMI output and the drawing...

Re: Arcade cores

Not exactly an "Arcade", but there is a WIP Vectrex core there : http://temlib.org/pub/mister An experiment in vector display. - Due to issues with the DRAM controller, one often need to press the "warm start" button after loading the RBF file. This is the middle button of the th...

Re: Buy / Sell MiSTer Expansion Boards

If anyone wants to sell some spares, I would like 1 or 2 PCBs of the universal SDRAM board.

Just the PCB. No RAM, no capacitor, no connector.

I'm in France (not in Australia, sorry yellperil ;-) ).

Re: MiSTer: MiST on Terasic DE10-nano board.

Is this suppose to work with HDMI? Under HDMI I only see color bars that fill up the screen. You need to launch the chip programmer in Quartus (which is the FPGA IDE from Altera/Intel) and upload the .SOF file. I only have the free version of Quartus. AFAIU, I cannot generate the .RBF file with the...

Re: MiSTer: MiST on Terasic DE10-nano board.

Interesting. I guess you can estimate speed variations of the device that should mostly correspond to the temperature. Yes, ring oscillators. This is a awful method for measuring temperature, there are many issues (such as the non-linearity, the influence of power suppy, interactions with nearby lo...

Re: MiSTer: MiST on Terasic DE10-nano board.

Hello ! The FPGA on the Terasic board can get quite hot. This version of the Sega MegaDrive/Genesis core shows on the top of the screen two gauges, which indicates the FPGA temperature : http://temlib.org/pub/mister/ - These measurements are not calibrated. There is also a bias between the two gauge...
