Hi, Just thought I'd share with you my MiST core collection. https://thumb.ibb.co/fCkaHS/Mi_ST_Cores.jpg You can check the full resolution version by clicking on the image. and yes, before you say anything, I know I can have all of these on the same SD card, but I like the mechanical act of choosing...
Hi, I was looking into building one SD card with all the arcade cores, but when I started looking for it in the official page here I can only find cores for the following games: - Galaxian - Invaders - Moon Patrol - Pacman - Pengo I seem to remember people mentioning there are dozens of arcade cores...
I bought on purpose an ASUS Cerberus because it has a physical DPI button to cycle between DPI settings. This way you don't even need to connect the mouse to another PC to change configuration. I highly recommend it. Although the connection is standard, the DPI settings are not and reality is that t...
Hi, I am trying the Atari 5200 core for the first time, and all I am getting is a garbled screen after I press F12. I can see there is a menu under all the garbage (with 5 options) as I can move up and down (and the garbage on screen will change accordingly), but I cannot seem to do anything out of ...
MSX don´t support SDHC cards, only SD and 2Gb max. Crystal Clear... I'll have to get one then. Thanks The core of Archimedes I have not spent much time, I tried 3 or 4 games and they worked fine at 140mhz without flickering, to solve those problems the creator of the core should do it, I do not hav...
And just tested the MSX core... gettint the "This core does not support SDHC cards." message. Was this not supposed to have been corrected on the previous version? (I may have my facts wrong )
Actually besides the MSX core the Acorn Archimedes is problematic too, dont't know if it's for the same reason or not, but the Archie is very picky in aspect of SD-cards... Also i´m fix Archimedes core, this core don´t work with older sdram MT48LC16M16A2P-75 http://www.mediafire.com/file/1myv3d7jvd...
If you could just re-use the cores from the regular MiSTer, I would not mind, but if it needs to be recompiled/maintained separately, then I'd rather not do it, as it will fracture the market even more.
It should be the same as described by Sorgelig. You would have to ensure that the new "hardware" communicated somehow with the base computer being simulated, but you would still have to develop operating system drivers to ensure the harware was recognized and properly used. You can check o...
There is a place and time for everything and core developing is as important as these discussions because they may trigger interest in core development from new users. At the very least, they educate people (myself included) and that is by itself a very noble purpose. From your explanations, I under...
This is quite interesting. Thank you for your answers. So, if the Speed is “more or less” the same between Cyclone III and V, and the later has a significantly more powerful CPU, what determines the speed of FPGA’s? (The FPGA itself?) How do we measure the speed of an FPGA (or in other words, how ca...
Hi, Following amazing job that Sorgelig is doing of porting cores to the MiSTer, moving from a MiST to a MiSTer is getting more and more enticing. The MiST still seems to have the upper hand on the total number of cores, but the MiSTer is quickly catching up. I would say the core that is missing at ...
Hi, The question's in the title. As I understand, the MiSTer is significantly more powerful than the MiST (in processor speed, FPGA size and memory). Does this impact in any way the performance of the Amiga core? Will it be quicker when run on the MiSTer? (i.e. higher score in SysInfo)? If not, why ...
It is always sad to hear about the discontinuing of a great product, but that's how things go in this world. My main concern is that there is no real replacement for the MiST for end consumers. If you are an enthusiast (and skilled in electronics) you can move on to the MiSTer, but that is technical...
I don't have a MiSTer yet, but I've been checking regularly it's progress and it has been amazing. Sorgelig is doing an amazing job in pushing this project forward, and many other community members are also helping. I'm waiting for the stabilization of the daughterboards (they have been heavily revi...
