Re: Apple ][+ Core

The TOSEC also has other formats '.do' for example that can be converted to .nib

Slingshot - I was mainly using 'Cold Reset' but I did use 'MiST Reset' a few times. But I think I used the 'MiST Reset' after I saw the previous games graphics as I thought 'MiST Reset' was better(?!). Thanks

Re: Apple ][+ Core

Hi. I managed a quick play with the Core. Here are some observations: 1.On 15kHz CRT TV picture is good, but is off to the left the same amount as original PC Engine Core. As the computer does not fill the whole screen you don't miss information like on the PC Engine but it would be nice if centerin...

Thanks for the 15Kkz support 8) (not tried it yet). I had just downloaded loads of games in .nib after reading about Scott Adams adventures games in Retro Gamer mag.

Re: PCEngine core issues with roms?

Thanks for info Slingshot, I just tried joystick emulation. And yes 07 12 2018 Core has great centering now on CRT TV DanyPPC - i tried ROMS. Street Fighter has gfx issues, main characters are just blobs of colour. B World works fine on my CRT TV and LCD Monitor. Not tried on LCD TV yet. Jack Nicklu...

Re: PCEngine core issues with roms?

Slingshot - would it be difficult to map the controller buttons also to the keyboard? Handy for testing etc if you don't have a controller about.

Scanline intensity is a nice feature. What does the Ram switch do in the OSD menu?
Thanks.

Re: PCEngine core issues with roms?

Yeah! No more text file for TV / VGA :)
Picture looks only slight off to the left on 15Khz TV, so pretty good. Much better centering than the last Core

Thanks

Re: PCEngine core issues with roms?

The standard menu would also be great, as you can't navigate the current one with a controller.

CRT TV (15kHz) users - do you find this Core is shifted over to the left too much compared to other Cores?

This is good for testing - http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php?title=240p_test_suite

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Slingshot - am I correct in thinking a Core with 0.62 sound has not been compiled yet? How long does it take to compile? I have a 5ish year old PC with AMD 3800(i think) with integrated GPU. The Sam Coupe Core was pretty quick to compile. Also another question, not on this Core, but is it easy to re...

Re: Atari ST Hard disk Image file for Mist

I need to play around with these images again. As they are based on an old ST Core. From memory the last time I burned an image I could not see the Core on the memory card to write over the latest one.
There are also a couple of 2GB images, Satan disk?

Lips2k15 - it runs Overdrive 2 demo which is a 8mb file so a 64mbit Rom? So I expect it should be fine.
You can test on the current Core release.

Excellent work jotego. I love hearing it when everyone clubs together and solves issues. Glad you got in contact with TiTAN, I was not successful in making contact. Looking forward to Slingshot doing his thing and releasing an update. I must allocate some time to plug in some decent speakers, turn d...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

The collaborative work on this Core has been amazing. The reason I suggested the Titan 2 demo was because it seemed to use so much trickery I thought that if you guys got that running then everything else would work. Oh and the ROM size is so large you can't run it on most Genesis/ Megadriv...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Hi all, I was keeping track of the Cores and at the moment we have: fpgagen_20181101.rbf - old jt12 (0.4?) fpgagen-titan2.zip - old jt12 (0.4?) and now there is jt12 v0.5 Do we need to check the problem game ROMS with Core fpgagen-titan2 and if that is ok then the changes in fpgagen-titan2 can be in...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

OK thanks. I thought it was a general problem. Same problem on my real MiST and Sony TV with RGB. i.e. shifted slightly to the left on many games. Does it do it on real hardware? Back in the day I bought a 14" Trinitron and with RGB input selected the picture did shift to the le...

And it's pity that Turrican doesn't start...

I am sure Virtua Racing is like some SNES games (Mario Kart, Pilotwings), it has a special chip inside the cart to perform 3D calculations.

I have a Megadrive MK1 & MK2 + Everdrive which I can test 'carts' on if needed.

They both have 50/60Hz switches too.

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Nice work getting some of those undocumented features working! There is an Emulator comparison video running the TiTAN - Overdrive 2 demo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FyQPn89RZQ I don't know if this helps at all? I thought that if an Emulator is running a particular part of the demo correctly, t...

Re: Is RGB/SCART blanking signal (Pin 16) too low on some Cores? <1v

So it looks like the default 8mA gives a measured voltage of 1V. For my Sony I have now taken 5V off the TV PCB and via a resistor feed it to Pin 16 so it always forced RGB mode. Then Composite signals were not recognised! so I have added a toggle switch near the SCART socket to Force RGB on/off. I ...

Is RGB/SCART blanking signal (Pin 16) too low on some Cores? <1v

Hi. I swapped my trusty Panasonic 14" CRT for a Sony Trinitron 14" CRT and I am having problems with it holding RGB/SCART mode. I have narrowed it down to the voltage being outputted in RGB mode on the MiST. For example MiniMig & Amstrad Cores output a measured 1V on VSYNC. 'Menu' Core...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Is the problem that the NTSC/PAL implementation is not fully known on the Genesis/Megadrive? I know the PCB's are the same with jumper switches defining if it is NTSC/PAL and for example on the NES it uses different chips and clock Crystal for NTSC or PAL. I spotted a Youtuber 'Gamehut' he was a Meg...
