Re: ST Mini (Mist Clone)

This mini mist doesn't seem as good as the mist. It lacks second db9 joystick port and has only 2 USB port.
Plus the case is 3D printed case so the quality might be poor.
I don't think it's worth saving 40€.
The price is 160€, the mist is at 199€.

Re: MIST and AV signal

@bernouilli: Curiously, that device has VGA in and VGA out. What's the point/purpose converting to the same output (like those HDMI boxes with HDMI in to out)? Its VGA input is a not a real VGA input, the signal in input is something like the one provided by the mist in 15khz mode, here VGA only st...

It depends on the core, some cores such as bbc only accept regular sd card.

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

I confirm. The screen is well centered on my pvm and the osd is working. The osd still need some work to appear correctly in 15khz mode but it's ok, you can mount a *.dsk and run programs.
However sometimes the keyboard doesn't respond and after a while it does.

I just soldered a ypbpr cable yesterday. And it works great. Now I can use my mist on the TV.
However it wasn't easy to solder, as always when it comes to soldering connectors.

Re: Jupiter Ace arrives at MiST

I wonder where he did get this? Has this platform been ported to some other FPGA? Did gehstock ported it to Mist?
Or did he just used the zx81 core with the rom of the Jupiter ace? Since I believe that the Jupiter ace has the same board as theczx81.

Thanks a lot. It's been ages since I wanted to test the Jupiter ace.

Re: MIST and AV signal

You must use some video converter to convert RGBHV to composite. There are devices that do this and are quite cheap : http://www.ebay.com/itm/272579761437 But I don't know how would the quality be since there is, in such device, modification of the resolution. I think it's best if you use some direc...

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

My mistake. I tested the 5 cores 5.8.14 (the official and the 4 experimentals) but none worked. In fact I tested them on a 2 GB SD card formated in FAT and no core worked, the trouble is that the core itself doesn't work: I only get a gray screen and when I press F12, this is what I get : http://img...

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

Nope, it still doesn't work with the scart cable. If your vga monitor support 15khz, it will work on your vga. The trouble is the sync signals that are still separated.

Hello, Tested it today and yes, it seems to work great in 15khz, except for the OSD that keeps rolling up. Another thing that I've noticed : When you use the directions keys to move the cursor, a small blinking cursor (like an underscore) moves with the keys but the big non blinking cursor stays whe...

Re: 15 kHz Scart RGB

On some TVs with multiple SCART, only one or two SCART connector support RGB, the others support only video composite. And only a few TV do support s-video through SCART. But I don't know if there are TV that don't support RGB at all. But when the SCART isn't connected to support RGB, you don't get ...

Re: New MIST core: PC Engine!

There must be a problem in the signal that your pvm can't cope with it. Something like a signal too strong. And since the trouble is only with this core, it's likely there is something unusual with it. This is something that you may see using a oscillosope to compare between the diffrent cores.

Re: New MIST core: PC Engine!

Seems like there is something that your pvm doesn't like.
Is it connected with a scart cable or with vga2bnc?
Is the pin vga14 (Vsync) connected to the pvm?

By the way, squid4 is right, you just have to put the right FPGAPCE.CFG.

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

It does run without scandoubler. It's just that the Hsync and Vsync aren't mixed and thus it doesn't work with the SCART cable. But it works in 15khz mode on a vga monitor that accepts 15khz. So I suppose the fix is quite easy.

I suppose there are still lots of improvements to come.

Somehow your github page doesn't load.. so I've linked to Sorgelig's repository for now on the wiki.

That's quite normal, I'm no FPGA developper, only a regular user/tester ;-)

Re: New MIST core: PC Engine!

I think that the problem in 15khz is that the vsync and the hsync are separate as in vga mode. In 15khz the two sync signals must be merged and output on pin 13. Pin 14 must be kept high.
See the schematic of the scart cable:

Re: Commodore PET FPGA source

After further testing, i found that bug happens if you press shifted key this way: SHIFT_DOWN-"_DOWN-SHIFT_UP-"_UP. i.e. shift is released BEFORE the other key. So, this bug is not in ARM firmware. It's in keyboard logic inside the core. That's cool, my analysis was close ;-) Indeed, if y...
