Re: Sotb better on Amstrad CPC + than on ST

Of course, I did not say it was a good game, it just has good music and graphics. The rest is crappy.
Still, this has always been a sort of "standard meter" for the amigans and i would be glad to see a good conversion for the STE or an enhanced version for the Falcon.

Re: Sotb better on Amstrad CPC + than on ST

Wow wow wow relax dude ! No need to be so disrespectul and rude. I think you miss my point. I'm not an Amstrad nor an Amiga fanboy at all (i have both a Falcon and a 1200 and had a ST and later an Amiga back in the day), and i use my Atari way more today. I stumbled upon that video the other day, an...

Re: Falcon & Games

Noone can tell just by looking at the listing ? :p Basically it says this program reconfigures the Falcon just before sector booting: It installs itself at $300000 after having reconfigured the computer in order it only sees one or 2 megs ram. Then you have to reset and execute a sector boot on a di...

Falcon & Games

Found this interesting article in the french "ST Magazine" n°72. It's about Falcon and games, and they provide a listing in ASM to help fixing compatibility issues. http://www.abandonware-magazines.org/affiche_mag.php?mag=6&num=874&album=oui (from page 40 onwards) Do you think it i...

Enough with the STE, you have to show what the Falcon is made of now :-)
It's our turn :-)
Wish I could code, i'm really impressed by your skills.

Well... I think: yes. Gameplay wise for sure. Graphics wise it will be a very good or close version.

Would this mean you could convert other CPS games using the same method ? Street Fighter II for example ?

Re: Enduro Racer Progress update

For Outrun, maybe would it be easier to start from the Mame version, just like Ghouls and Ghosts ?

Found the Enduro Racer Amiga conversion :

Display a picture and play music in GFA or ASM

Hello, i would like to make a small program for my Falcon, which could display a picture and play a music file at the same time, mp2, mod, or snd. I tried LCK, but there is no option for mp2 or such files. Anyone could tell me how to do that? Either with devpac or GFA, but please keep in mind i'm a ...

Tried to install devpac 3.1 (found here : http://dhs.nu/files.php?t=single&ID=5) but it keeps asking for disk A. Any idea ?

Re: Skateball / Ubisoft

The more i play it, the more i like it.
Too bad the scrolling is a lil bit jerky.

I prefer this one to speedball in fact. Love the dark and bloody atmosphere.
This game would really benefit from an STE/Falcon version, with DMA sound and better scrolling :p

i'll see when i get the game this week. Cool ! you will be able to tell us what's the "real" version of the game. The one with Whittaker's music or the other one ? http://www.gametronik.com/site/fiche/atari_st/Skate%20Ball/ "Skate Ball connu aussi sous le nom de SkateWars. la légende...

This is one of my favourite games on the ST. It's not available on Amiga. I use this version on my Falcon and it works great : http://atari.8bitchip.info/SCRSH/skatew.html There are 2 versions with different music : David Whittaker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6_7Ary-bug&t=171s https://www.y...

English is not my native language, but i noticed a few typos of course. But it did not prevent me from appreciating the book as a whole. The author might not be a writer, but it's a well documented & interesting book. Please do understand that english is not everyone's language. We use it by mut...

Re: The Atari ST (and others) and the Creative People

I just read your review :This is wrong. And unfair. I'm sure Marco put a lot of effort in his book. English is not his native language, but he decided to publish it in English, to reach a wider audience. And we should be thankful. If it had been written in german, i'm sure you would have been one of...

This is weird, since some games seem to run properly, Goldrunner or Wings Of Death for example.

Slow down the Falcon for ST games

Hello, i have several St games (ex Skatewars) which are a little bit problematic on my Falcon. The music plays too fast and the game is too fast aswell (ex Toki). Some games have the option to switch to 8Mhz&disable cache at startup by pressing M, but it does not seem to work. I tried to use Fal...

Re: Menu system for harddisk AUTO folder? ==> RELEASED

I use it on The Falcon and it works ! Thank you !
Would there be a way to switch resolution automatically (don't know if it's possible) for some games? Since some converted games need to be run in low res and won't work otherwise.

Always preferred the ST scene because of this. (I got a St then an Amiga). The coders had to work with a lot of technical limitations but they did wonders. Can't describe my feeling when i saw the first full screen demo. I strongly recommend this book, it's a real gem : https://www.microzeit.com/ant...

Any Game Launcher for the ST/Falcon ?

I was wondering if any game launcher existed for the ST, something like this on the Amiga : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5FCFuTfpaA I'm looking for something that would scan my game folder and would allow to launch a game in a list, with info, pictures, genre... Has anyone ever seen something li...
