Re: C64 NeoHabitat Disk-B won't load

Ridiculous to say that fastloaders won't work with current C64 core. Such funny assumption could be made by the one who didn't use the core. ... I know *exactly* what is failing, because I in fact do run the tests (on every new version of the C64 core). I keep track of ALL of the 1541 disk drive em...

Re: Atari 2600 / VIC 20

The reduced scanline modes are discarding some bits from the RGB output, and sometimes it can transfer to some different colors, as I see. Will check once... Thank you in advance! Not urgent at all, I use mainly SCART connector in case of my main screen as it's very picky in aspect of non-standard ...

Re: Atari 2600 / VIC 20

Hi! This weekend I noticed that the video out of the Atari 2600 core shows some colors wrongly in case of PAL ROMs if scanlines are set to 25 or 50%. Usually I connect my MiST over SCART to the display, but this time tried component. Over VGA (only NTSC ROMs are compatible with my TV using this conn...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

What's the best way to get this to boot? Can't get the very last two cores to boot at all into RGB. The older cores did work after about 5 or more tries. Holding down the 0 numpad key - I don't have a VGA to test on. Particular ROM version required? Running 3.10 here - I think. Update : First tip i...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

Seems MonitorTypes of 1 or 4 should work with most of the displays then. Still would be good to think about something to store it permanently, instead of tapping a key at every boot. Maybe a file on the SD-Card to store the CMOS memory values? As [4] is the default, I think if someone wants to use ...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

Hi! Tested the core with various hotkeys during boot (numpad 0-5), forcing the video modes below: • 0 -> 50Hz TV standard colour or monochrome monitor This results 720x576i@50Hz via component, in case of deskop [1] and games [2] as well (tried the !TechDream demo this time). • 1 -> Multi-frequency m...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

Hi! The 25kHz core's interlaced output rolls over SCART, but it's VGA-combatible in prógressive mode. The 24kHz core has a VGA-incompatible video (640x500@57Hz) in progressive mode, games run in strange video resolution/refresh rates as well (720x400@67Hz), but pressing numpad 0 many times during bo...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

What are (PAL) TV standard resolutions in your opinion? In my view, everything that a typical RGB-input CRT can sync to is "PAL TV standard", which is usually 15625 Hz line frequency and either interlaced or progressive signal at 25 or 50 Hz. Be that an Amstrad CPC with 160x200@50Hz or an...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

Tried some methods to obtain a 15kHz-compatible video mode, but nothing worked... But built-in component output should work on all modes. Didn't try it, but I'm not sure that 400 lines @ 70Hz would work, as most games use this video mode, and it's non-TV standard... EDIT: Just as I expected: deskto...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

Tried some methods to obtain a 15kHz-compatible video mode, but nothing worked... RiscOS 3 boots into 640x480@60Hz, which is VGA compatible. Tried hold down the numeric pad 0, as this should force 50Hz TV-standard colour monitor, without luck. Pressing numpad 2 during boot resulted an 1600x900@65Hz ...

Re: 1942 core for MiST released!

I did it now.. you need (at least for how i could do it) : 1) copy all files in a root hdd directory of your PC 2) copy 1942.zip taken from a Mame\roms dir (DON'T UNZIP IT!) 3) put in same folder 7za.* (3 files taken from https://www.7-zip.org/a/7z1806-extra.7z) 4) launch .bat file 5) rename a.1942...

Re: Acorn Archimedes

Is there a way to make the core boot in a RGB resolution, so far it only syncs on a VGA monitor? The Archie was a computer with dedicated monitor, and not a console. Re: Has the HT1080z/TRS80 Model I core been ported from mist? (not coco)

That would be a cool core but I haven't seen it ported. There is also this one: https://github.com/sebdel/mist-cores/tree/master/trs80 Is it worth porting both? The Hungarian clone is more mature (has a 640x480 VGA-compatible and a SCART/PAL standard interlaced video out mode as well, and it's able...
