Re: The Atari ST (and others) and the Creative People

I bought volume 1 which as with most Kickstarters was very late. Or at least felt like it was. For the price paid for such a low print run book I was amazed at the physical quality, the printing, the page layout, the binding etc. A very high quality item that again, given the print run and price, wa...

Re: RETRO-BRITE...Best Process So Far

I use this which says 35% on it (my bad I thought it was 40%) and I dilute it 10:1 and it seems to work as well as the 3.5% stuff I had bought previously so it's probably 35%:

Re: RETRO-BRITE...Best Process So Far

Although more expensive, I found the safest method is to immerse the whole machine in hydrogen peroxide. I buy 1 gallon of 40% concentrate for $40 and mix it 8:1 with water ending up with 5% solution. It never dries out this way hence safe, and takes about a day or two of slightly cloudy days (I fin...

I don't know about your specific issue but the Framemeister does work with the STE if you have the right cable, which needs a resistor.

Re: Three Sparrow Mainboards on EBay

Good food is French or Italian, the rest is to feed only. Personally I think real Chinese food kick everyone's butt. But then I consider French food to be nice but way overrated and fussy and hence prefer Italian. And a lot of Italian dishes are based on Chinese dishes, including all pasta and pizz...

Re: TT030 clone - is it possible ?

Emulator on a cheap fanless Zotac Zbox is the way forward for what you want. Then you can work on stuff like higher resolutions and fixing and improving software. You'd have to do that anyway with new hardware so if you don't even get the software done it's a dead project. While I appreciate liking ...

Wanted: Protext (boxed with manual)

I'm looking for an original boxed copy of Protext, ideally as late a release as possible (6.6 or 6.5?) but a little earlier considered if cheap enough.
I'm in USA but obviously open to paying shipping from wherever necessary on top of the item price.

Re: The game is on (can we make MiNT/TOS this pretty?)

I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine where we were discussing his old boss's attitude of 'you shouldn't comment your code, it should be plain enough that everyone can instantly see what it does.' Well, sure that's fine in theory... Haha! I'm curious as to the age of his old boss. Thi...

Re: How to lock/close thread ?

There are a few people on this forum that have to argue with one another and try and one-up one another because they feel they are always right. Winning an argument over the internet, whether on email or in a forum, virtually never happens. It's entirely pointless to keep a thread alive by feeling t...

Re: Something positive, for change

Idiotic or not they are not your comments to delete, it's just that Google has given you the tools to censor the speech of others, which is absolutely wrong. I strongly disagree. Its *your* youtube channel, where you are trying to get across *your* message, and grow *your* community. Other people c...

Re: Something positive, for change

Google owns the service you post comments on (in the case of YouTube) so that makes it their site and their computer and they can delete whatever they like. If google don't care about a negative comment but the person running the channel does, they can delete it. Because it's their channel. The beau...

Re: MINT: We don't make this easy do we?

Regarding web pages. What I hate the most is that Atari related pages and forums dont support browsers available on Atari computers. This forum is barely usable with NetSurf. It was a lot better about 2 years ago before last changes were done = probably upgraded. If we wont take care by ourself to ...

Re: MINT: We don't make this easy do we?

The average user doesn't really know or care We can't expect the average user to understand how things work, they just know their phone battery gets sucked up along with their bandwidth allowance, and that they can't quickly check a page at subway stops as the thing takes too long to load. The soci...

Re: Something positive, for change

When you consider both platforms were really done by about 1994 and had arguably been surpassed even in gaming by about 1992, that means someone is taking things far too seriously 25 years later. And if they were only 10-15 years old at the time they're 35-40 now and thus *really* need to grow up an...

Re: any one use both Atari and Amiga

I have an Amiga 500. As others have said, in some ways better than an ST with a few more colours on screen, better sound in some games, smoother scrolling sometimes. It's easier to pull apart to work on too. But in other ways, not as good. I don't like Workbench to look at, I find it less stable (in...
