Apple IIGS?

Does anyone know if there are any projects working on Apple IIGS cores (or add GS support to current Apple II)? If there was Disk write support + full IIGS, I'd probably sell my upgraded Woz Edition.

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

Very nice! I am actually somewhat surprised I have yet to see a YT video of a MiSTer project built into a small handheld like a Sega Nomad. A portable MiSTer that can still hook up to the big screen when needed would be awesome.

Re: MiSTer updater script

The fix I used was to copy all the card contents to a backup location, format the card again with the mister setup tool and then copy it all on back.

Re: Happy Results on lag experiment

Thank you for adding to this discussion. I am new to Mister but very experienced with Mist (still enjoyed to this day!) . I will have to look into where I can adjust settings for "vsync_adjust=2 " That is fantastic news though!! Thank you and I will try it out after researching. Has anyone...

Re: MiSTer updater script

Sorry, I was not replying directly to the Atari800 core part of the discussion but as a thank you and feedback to the core as a whole. I tried out the LATEST updater script and it is great that it can auto-download cores. In my case it made everything on the sd card Read-only.

Happy Results on lag experiment

Test settings: Samsung LED LCD vs JVC CRT (model numbers I'd have to check later by request) Mister with Retro-bit Sega Genesis USB pad (on both screens) Same game on Mister TG16 core vs Real PC-Engine. Test: Mister -> HDMI cable -> HDMI switch -> S-video/RCA audio output adapter -> S-Video 5 port s...

Rapid-Fire options (especially TG16/PC-Engine)?

What does everyone feel about rapid fire options? Great as a universal feature for all/many cores or implemented elsewhere? Though I will eventually get one of the modern options of controller adapters, I mostly hope to find a way for PC-Engine/TG16 core implementation because it's one of the few sy...

Re: Arcade ROM Builder & Injector GUI

This is a very nice utilty. Some of the alternate games in the dropdown that do not appear in the official Mister arcade core .rbf files: how do you play without an rbf. When we have these roms 20 times over since 1997 (MAME), I get that core creators have to cover their tracks by not including the ...

This is indeed a great script. Please forgive if it has been answered, but is there a setting or something I must do if I do not want the script to set the sd card as read-only?

Re: "MiSTer PC Engine CD & TurboGrafx-CD Begins"

Such fantastic news!!! Also, P.s. to smokemonster - I'm growing addicted to your live streams and seeing LonTv, RetroRGB and the rest in the mix. Great work and I hope Smokemonster gets first dibs on the PCEcore with cdsupport. This would all amount to the ultimate: MiSTer = A Supergrafx clone with ...

Re: Would MiSTer ever be able to run a Neo Geo core?

https://youtu.be/BmjuC47jTxE You need the main MiSTer binary that goes with it as well as several files in the NeoGeo dir on your sd card: neo-epo.sp1 (this can be original or universe bios) top-sp1.bin I am down to finding these two files. I downloaded the latest unibios. Do I rename a particular ...

Re: Can't get MiSTer SD Card Installer v2.0.2.0 utility to work

Thanks - I did try several sd card readers and adapters.. the 4th one did the trick... after three I assumed it wasn't the problem. If anyone else has this issue, try to avoid as main chains of command as possible (no micro-SD to SD adapter) and use a direct thumbstick micro-sd to USB and also plug ...

Can't get MiSTer SD Card Installer v2.0.2.0 utility to work

I have my MiSTer now (w. SDRam board and USB port) and downloaded all cores. Download the SD card utility to use on the 8gb card that came with the Nano. The instructions say Windows 10 64-bit is required. Not having (nor wanting) a Win10 machine, I figured I'd first try it on an extra Win7 (64) mac...

Re: NEW OR UPDATED ARCADE CORES

RealLarry - I live for the day to see some classic Sega System 16 and Capcom CPS (even 1 if not II) to get some Space Harrier, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, and especially Strider. Side note: are you the creator of the Leisure games and as featured in Heavy Metal Jesus's youtube house visit? If so, I'v...

Wow, the Roland UM-ONE is basically a cable with a little tiny rectangle at mid cable. Thanks for the heads up. I have to look into that device. It does Legacy hardware justice like MT32 and various Sound Canvas variations?

Re: Show us your MiSTer hardware setup

Inspired by the 1050XEL project, I have a shell for an Apple IIGS 3.5 inch Floppy that I thought to do a Pi in but I may see if the Nano board will fit when I get one. If I went Amiga I'd try for a new 1200 case. Seeing that I have a C64 breadbin Keyrah as a USB keyboard, what an odd pairing to have...

Re: PCEngine core issues with roms?

An interesting footnote on PC Engines. I wondered the difference between a Coregrafx I and II besides the look: a subtle CPU change history. Original white PC-Engine used the HU6280 CPU. CoreGrafx 1 used the HU6280a revised CPU and a wiki portion says "which supposedly fixed some minor audio is...

Re: A Mist fan looking to join the Mister club: core questions.

Wow, thank you for that. I always wanted to mess with Roland hardware, but probably would only end up using it to play the older games. The gear can be pricey and I don't have a lot of space... A Mister may be a perfect solution for me for fun. Imagine using the ARM CPU for Munt and rigging the Mist...

Re: A Mist fan looking to join the Mister club: core questions.

The ao486 core is more like a 386sx speed wise (but with extremely fast vl-bus VGA) - forget about most 3D games. The ao486 core lacks a MPU-401 MIDI uart so MIDI compatibility is limited to those games which will work with the SoftMPU TSR. For most Sierra games, Roland MT-32/CM-32 compatibility is...
