Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

So unfortunate that this core is so close but a few key features dont work and it still lacks proper framebuffer support so it has that weird default video mode that is incompatible with many monitors (mine included .. had to blindly press keys in the right sequence to force the display to 60hz befo...

Re: Has the HT1080z/TRS80 Model I core been ported from mist? (not coco)

Yes, that's Roger Taylor's core and IIUC he's focused on his own hardware platform rather than MiSTer. The one nice thing about Rogers core is that he added support for the Midilink stuff in Mister, so its like having wifi virtual rs232 modem support .. and of course you can set it to midi too .. b...

Re: Vectrex core

Thanks for a great core of a quite unique machine. There seem to be two choices of aspect ratio in the core, 4:3 and 16:9, but not the original ( 5:8 ?). Is there a reason for this? Would it be difficult to implement? Perhaps the 5:8 is the PAL variant 50hz where as the 4:3 would be North American ...

Re: Mac Plus help?

This is really helpful! Thanks for the advice! One other question... several of the games I tried (Apache Strike and Ancient Art of War come to mind specifically) had graphical anomalies that definitely weren't present in the original games. Is the Mac Plus core considered to be accurate, or does i...

Re: MiSTer frontend future

What if you ran a nice full featured GUI menu on a raspberry Pi (or a PC) and just sent commands over the network to remote-control launch cores on the MiSTer .. no need to run the GUI menu/launcher on the mister itself therefor no need to worry about using resources of the mister etc etc.. granted ...

Re: Has the HT1080z/TRS80 Model I core been ported from mist? (not coco)

I have a quite complete TRS-80 Model I core with a few different hires boards implemented on a proprietary platform. The FDD was implemented, but using raw I/O (so not much good for MiSTer) and also the IDE interface with Peter Bartlett ROM extensions as well (booting LDOS from CF) again on proprie...

Re: Has the HT1080z/TRS80 Model I core been ported from mist? (not coco)

When I get settled into MiSTer and find my way around, I'll port this core to MiSTer, with floppy/hard disk image support. I also have a CoCo1/2 core with IDE interface as well (again CF card). A CoCo 1/2 MiSTer core would be great. :D coco3 mister core already exists (unofficially anyway .. you ca...

Re: Mac Plus help?

I think I had to use Basilisk II to mount stuff and move files around .. I created a machine in BII and would mount any disks/hard drives of interest, I also mapped a local disk folder on my computer to a folder in Basilisk .. so I could migrate files .. vMac also comes in handy for testing in a B&a...

You can't.. its not been added to the core..

Re: USB Floppy support on MiSTer? Possible? Needed?

There is also Keir Fraser opensource Greaseweazle "Tools and USB interface for accessing a floppy drive at the raw flux level."

https://github.com/keirf/Greaseweazle

This might be adapted for this use with no closed source/proprietary strings.

Re: Floppy sound on Minimig core

Also it sounds like it doesnt make the classic "tick" noise when there is no disk in the drive.. this is a major omission if true.. but all in all , this should be added to the official core as the drive sounds of the Amiga (especially the empty drive tick-tick-tick) are quintessentially u...

Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

New version works fine with my 128mb module .. though the aspect ratio is still broken .. but I suspect thats due to not having the updated framework with the scaler and such.

Hi all, Im trying to run this ver fxcast-012 and ver 14 and I just get a white screen, then like 3 bombs in the bottom left, then reboots. Re: FX CAST Atari ST core

Since I am using HDMI, I am also experiencing the previously reported problems that the core is not outputting 1080p but some other resolution. It seems it is not obeying my Mister.ini config file correctly, because I set 1080p there. In addition, and I hope this is actually a new issue, the output...

Re: Arcade cores

Is there a trusted script out there that will auto-update not only the arcade cores but also build the roms for them? ROMs are never going to be updated using a script. You need to provide your own since ROMs are copyrighted. That said there ARE public sources like internet archive at Archive dot o...

Is there something i forgot ? Does anyone have any idea of what could be the problem ? Sadly this core is using a VERY OLD version of the MISTER framework and doesnt support things like the scalers and of course the 128mb module now.. The author seems to have shelved this core for the time being.. ...

There is also something a little wonky with the 486 core's VGA implementation.. eg I noticed in GeoWorks Ensemble the on screen gaphics are a little broken (not so much as to be unusable but there are weird chromatic aberrations around certain graphical elements, dialog boxes, window boxes etc, anno...

Re: Minimig RTG possible?

Actually there is no much use for internet connection on Amiga. Well, that's a rather subjective opinion. Without internet connection for the Amiga core, the MiSTer would be pretty much useless for me. Some of us use the MiSTer as a replacement for actual Amiga hardware, and we use it like we have ...

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

Yes. the serial console uses the mini USB connector between the Ethernet plug and the regular micro USB plug. Once connected Windows should assign a COM port for it, and then you can use any terminal program. I just want to check your map to see if I see anything unusual. It's a long shot but maybe...
