Re: Best Electronics

Well, it seems I must have offended him or something. I tried my personal domain email, wrote the email in plain text (no html), had the Atari word in subject and still no reply. I swear I only wanted to purchase stuff from him and asked him if they are available. :-/ I guess I am in the same boat....

Fake STing - what works, what doesnt?

Hey all, Hoping to get some conversation going. I have a megaSTE with 4mb and a microcosmos. Using wifi to connect to my network. I would like to do some basic internet work with my ST if I could. Email, IRC, Telnet, browse Atari.org (about the only site I can get anything out of !!!) I have tried t...

Re: Atari MSTE - NVDI 4 or 5?

I am running an ET4000 1mb I can run 1024 x 756 256col - but if I run that mode many programs bomb out .. sysinfo says I am using too much screen memory to run with a little (poo) box to click.. lol.

I will post my results. as well.

Re: XBOOT III 3.20 ENG - Patched!

Going to add this here rather than a new thread. I am using this.. Xboot III 3.2 eng patched. I am following everything as far as I can tell. I have multi sets. But I want to have a newdesk.inf for each or options anyway. I have a VME ET4000 / Multisync so I can run low/med/hi.. SO I create a deskto...

Re: Mega STe Hd floppy problem

I painted the faceplate. It looks pretty good, but after enough times in and out it will wear. I did end up using the Teac FD-235hf - worked great, just with the D0 D1 mod. I found that that drive checks the fat after any eject it would seem, so no other mod was required. I have not been able to get...

Re: Web browsing with CosmosEx?

I am still trying to get this to work. I am using a Mega STE 4mb machine. I have Cab 2.7 and Cab 1.5 - There was an overlay in 1.5 that seems to work with the Fake STing -- so I can get working with both using that .ovl. I crash often and many things are screwy, but I think that is what it is.. not ...

Re: CosmosEX with Mint or MagiC

So I am using a Microcosmos, with MiNT(freeMiNT) and i can access the translated drives, but I do have some funky issues where it does seem to mess up the reading and writing.. so I am assuming this is it, usually if I try and run something on it. If all i do is use them for file transfers so far so...

Does Genevia have the same issues?

Re: CAB 2.8

I am opening this thread again, because I downloaded the CAB 2.8 that was in the abondonware thread, and I cannot get it to install on a 4mb MSTE. I was not able to get it to install from HD so copied disk 1 and 2 to floppies. I can get through MOST of an install but it errors out. I am only trying ...

Re: CosmosEX v2 SCSI MegaSTE HELP!

So Marakatti are you running it with an internal Asci drive? or you just wanted to set the jumpers so as not to conflict with your Cosmos?

I have mega STEs and I leave the controller in, but I have no HDD on it. all three of my switches are in the ON position, and working fine.

Oh, this is news to me, as I have run both MiNT and MagiC on my system using the microcosmos.

So what exactly would I find to be the issues?

Re: new Nova drivers

So, I just deleted c:\gemsys, and that did not fix it, I was getting frustrated, so I backed up the C: drive and started again. Copied over the nova pkg, only - ran that .. worked. Installed NVDI 5 only setup as per frank - no gdos device or name.. just NOVA in menu. Runs perferct. So something was ...

Re: new Nova drivers

I appreciate your help frank, but I have been doing that.. If NVDI runs.. I get no resolutions that were set in the drivers.. depending on which one I pick.. I might get 640 x 480 x 2 or some messed up one.. x 2 but none with colour. I can post a video if that will help. It is running just as you sa...

Re: new Nova drivers

Hmmm.. the only way I could get it to use the NVDI was to select GDOS with NOVA.. BUT - it now will ignore the resolution!! :(

No GDOS - resolutions.. GDOS (NVDI) no resolutions... I assume this is not supposed to happen?

Re: new Nova drivers

OK... So I have it running again. It was the ET4000 install that screwed it up. I did the NOVA install, everything seems fine.. except. In xmenu - where it asks me for GDOS name - it gives me a selection and I choose NVDI.. it then goes and changes NVDI every time I load to a .PR not a .PRG and it d...

Re: new Nova drivers

thanks dimfil, I did the et4000 install and that broke the install, so I will try the nova. 1st1 I am not hoping for more, just ones that work, like dimfil suggested. OK, so I had it installed, I did basically what you said, I really only needed the .acc out of the VME_8 pkg. BUT.... I have only been able to get 1 resolution to work. 1024-768x256.. and if I try and access the floppy drive I get 4 bombs and lockup. If I access HDD no issues. Also not sure how to i...
