Re: Amikit style blob/OS for Atari?

Porting yum and using it to manage rpm's through a repository would be wonderful. And setup a build bot that builds rpm's for a centralized repository. And when that's in place, make a GUI front end for yum. I'm working on something like this (except for the GUI), but it's going slow when there's ho...

Re: Beginning of very long journey

As you all are well aware I guess, Falcon video connectivity is based on D-sub 19F/M connectors and these are nowhere to find already. So I am thinking to replace it with something more viable. I am currently considering these options: a) 20 pin miniD connector: https://www.tme.eu/cz/Document/caf2d...

Re: Natcar

Just an idea: is the motherboard boosted? It's a CT63. So unless Knezzen has a Phantom/Nemesis/similar, there will be no bus boost. I ran the game successfully with my Phantom activated. It sounds like a timing issue. Knezzen - Do you have the SV's clock lines installed? Do you have a decent bus cl...

512mb TT-RAM and 14mb ST-RAM. Sometimes I get a black screen when I start it and sometimes I can arrow one menu item down before It hangs and I have to do a hard reset to get back on track. I run my CT63 at 90mhz usually, but tried 66mhz when I experienced the hangups just to be on the safe side.

Any idea what can be wrong?

It's not emulation, it's virtualization. You don't emulate with VirtualBox, you virtualize. Not the same thing at all.

Re: BeeKey Atari on a key and now BeePi

Would be wonderful if BeeKey could be distributed as a VirtualBox harddrive image as well.
Would make a kick ass dev environment on the road :)

Tried getting the USB image to work in VirtualBox, but I only get to the Ubuntu login prompt, and I don't know the password ;)

Re: Messed up graphics

I'll give "Fire and Ice" a go tonight. Just to add, CPU overclocking does not make any difference at all (if it's even possible). Running the CT63 at 66mhz at the time of taking those screenshots. EDIT: Fire and Ice works just fine in both MiNT and TOS with the SuperVidel activated. Must b...

Messed up graphics

Hi, Im experiencing graphical issues with some fullscreen games and my SuperVidel. I have been trying pretty much everything and have narrowed it down to the SuperVidel driver (i think) is making this happen. See the attached pictures for the graphical issues and the difference. I get this when havi...

Re: Does the CT2 really fit into the original case?

The keyboard has been trimmed inside my CT2 Falcon to make it fit. Using a double sided 128mb SIMM now without any issues now with the case closed.
I think this is what you need to do if you can't find a thinner SIMM. See attached picture.

Re: Dead CT2 machine

I experienced something similliar with my CT2 when my STRAM was bad. You don't have spare module to test with? Remember that the bus is overclocked, so you'll need fast memory for it to work. The stock Atari branded 4mb module works.

Re: SIMM for use with ST-RAM upgrade

The original 4mb Atari STRAM module does not render any artefacts, just this module with a 70ns sticker on it. The old module with the same SIMM-holder didn't render any bad graphics either. The CT63 is running rock solid except the pixel errors and strange colors in places in some games. Might be a...

Re: SIMM for use with ST-RAM upgrade

So 60ns is the fastest? I thought there where 50ns modules avalible as well.
I found a 70ns module in a drawer, but im seeing some graphic artefacts when running in 060-mode. I guess this is due to the slower RAM?

SIMM for use with ST-RAM upgrade

Hi!

I recently somehow fried my 72pin SIMM ST-RAM in my Falcon, so im looking for a replacement module.
Does anyone here have a module to spare? Has to work with my CT60, so 50ns or 60ns (whichever is the fastest).

Thanks!

It was called Notator Logic up until version 2.0 when they dropped Notator from the name.
But yes, this is the last version of (Notator) Logic for Atari :)

Re: EXTREAMLY slow disk performance in MiNT

Maybe you should try clean TOS first? Unzip it there? It's possible you have running fsck check in the backroung, for instance. Same problem in TOS, but I solved it. I removed general.cpx from the CPX folder and all is well... For some reason it seems like it took all the CPU time. Worked great on ...
