Re: Memory protection in MiNT reworked

New kernel fixed the MP problem on my TT with 256MB. But I'm having weird hangs on newer kernels. Right after the "Installing BIOS Keyboard Table blah blah" or something like that. Oddly, by random co-incidence, I noticed that if bigdos was accidentally left on from my TOS boot-set, it di...

Re: Boot res for Mint and NOVA

Glad you got it working. I remembered my Mint was booting to 1024x768 on my Nova but I just selected the rez from MENU. I did not have to make a bib file, too complicated to decipher in German. Wongck, this wasn't the problem. My Mint was also booting to the desired res. This was all about the scro...

Re: Boot res for Mint and NOVA

Another update: Instead of using XMENU I tried the standard MENU.PRG in its place, this displays correctly in 1024x768.

PSU for TT? Mean Well RT-65A

This nice little fanless PSU supplies 12v, 5v and -5v at 65 watt. I might get one for my TT. Does anyone see any issue with it?

Re: Boot res for Mint and NOVA

I found a small problem - using this EMULATOR.BIB will cause the XMENU.PRG to display incorrectly/corrupted, so you can't change res. I got around this by keeping an EMULATOR.BAK to swap when I need to change res.

Re: Boot res for Mint and NOVA

Here is an EMULATOR.BIB (zipped) to display 1024x768 2 colour 60hz. This will effect boot sequence resolution and menu resolution. Place in AUTO folder. Instruction to make your own: Copy STA_VDI.BIB into the same folder as VMG.PRG. Open VMG.PRG. Select 'Load resolutions'. It will read the STA_VDI.B...

Don't worry, I managed to understand VMG.PRG and created a new EMULATOR.BIB in 1024x768 2 colours! It's really nice. I will post it here in a moment.

Re: Boot res for Mint and NOVA

I am just saying that this boot/console/kernel text is always large - no matter what resolution I am choosing. Oh, sorry, I clearly wasn't paying attention to what I was doing... Do you run NVDI as well, or just NovaVDI? Yes NVDI and inside XMENU I choose NVDI as GDI as well. But from what I am gat...

Re: Boot res for Mint and NOVA

I do, I have emulator at the start/beginning of my AUTO folder. I do get all the screen output to my graphics card, I am just saying that this boot/console/kernel text is always large - no matter what resolution I am choosing. The chosen resolution does work once getting to the desktop, but only then.

Boot res for Mint and NOVA

Hey all,

I can't remember how to configure the boot resolution for Mint and NOVA. It always seems to be low res large text, of course once Mint finishes loading I get the res I chose in xmenu.

Can anyone remember? Thank you

I think an isometric RPG similar to boulders gate would be possible with the Falcons capabilities, especially with an 060.

Are Atari Laser printers useful today?

Hey guys, I recently got hold of an Atari SLM804 in great condition with the laser interface unit. I don't ever see these discussed on forums so I'm wondering how useful they are. Of course it might be good for compatibility with legacy printing applications etc. I personally don't know whether to k...

He's probably referring to the libs, but I guess they can just be placed in the scummvm directory with the binary right?

Re: Synergy / Barrier for Atari? Mint?

I think the program is very light and requires no extra dependencies. What makes you think so? Looking at src/lib, that does not look very "light". And the GUI is realized using Qt, so forget about that. The GUI is not required, that's only used for the server. You just run the client fro...

Re: Pre-announcing the Lightning ST - USB & IDE for STs

Mega STE has internal ASCI, so you can use the UltraSatan either externally or internally. I don't see the requirement for IDE when there is such a solution available. That is a funny response. ..because the exact same thing could be said about any ST machine they all come with an external asci por...

Synergy / Barrier for Atari? Mint?

Hi guys, I have recently started to use Barrier and/or Synergy (Barrier is an open source fork of an older Synergy before paywall) to use one keyboard and mouse over my network of computers. I don't think we have a port for Atari mint from what I can see? If not, is it possible for someone with comp...
