Re: Falcon serial numbers

Mine is B3 32 02 2000402. I'm having trouble decyphering, would that make it February 1993 in factory B3 number #2000402?

'Cannot open file AS'

Hi all,

When copying folders between TOS formatted drives in TOS on my TT I get errors like 'Cannot open file AB, AC, AF' etc, it stops me deleting or copying. Has anyone come across this before? It happens in Mint as well as TOS. I'm running SCSI2SD with HDDRIVER 10.02.

Mikro are you saying that the bus speed mod could be possible? Is this pie in the sky? :)

Re: Problems with Falcon 030

Looks really bad. During transit it could have been damaged. First I would dismantle the machine and check for dry joints & re-flow as much as possible. Then if no luck I would buy a 110v psu. Then if no luck I would re-cap the psu and motherboard. Then if in no luck I would be in dispair ;(

Make sure to click 'auto configure' after clicking 'install hddriver', this helped me a lot.

Re: Eiffel adaptor installation help

According to that page it seems my Eiffel is TT only. I think the pin-outs that are labelled 'To Atari' is the rj12 cable. Unless I solder/piggyback off the rj12 connectors solder joints perhaps.

Re: Eiffel adaptor installation help

Yeah I tried contacting the sellers, but they seem to be re-sellers. They bought a large amount to sell off. So whoever made these, made a _lot_. I can obviously use it quite easily for my TT, but ideally I'd like to install it in my Falcon to give it PS2 inputs. All I need is a wiring diagram as to...

Re: CT60(e) + bus acceleration

The biggest gain is of course from the bus acceleration, it's one hell of a difference if your data travel to/from ST-RAM 25% faster. The DSP is usually just a bonus (and makes sense mainly because the CPU is also 25% faster) but I could really notice it when programming the DSP. Ah okay. Well if y...

Eiffel adaptor installation help

Could anyone give me advice on the pins on this Eiffel board I got? I have no instructions for it and I don't know how to install it.

Re: CT60(e) + bus acceleration

I have the DSP with its own crystal, accelerated all the time (was not stable if it got the clock from the CT60, but that's my motherboard, not the CT60). And yes, the speed boost is very good without SV. Since SV, I don't use the speed boost. Watch your SCSI reliability if you want experimenting w...

Re: The reset / 030->060 issue update

I recapped my Falcon fully and so far my ct60e has been running well. It had some odd issues when I first installed it, but I just contact cleaned my ram and then put some shielding around my psu and since then everything has been very stable.

Re: Fastest 060 clock?

The 68060 was manufactured at 0.6um, 0.42um and 0.32um manufacturing process. The difference in heat dissipation is huge between these. That's why "rev 6" are sought after (at least 0.42). It's somewhat more unclear of Motorola ever did 0.42um or if only Freescale 060s are 0.32. /Troed Ye...

Re: ST Format / Unix article

There was an article about Unix in ST Format issue 59. Ah yes, this isn't the exact same article I read many years ago, it's actually more factual and straight forward. But this is probably the same cartridge system. I wonder if anyone ever actually bought the SMS2, would anyone on these forums hav...

Re: Fastest 060 clock?

My CT60e runs fine @90 MHz but freeze @100 MHz. I am using a slim CoolerMaster copper heat sink+ fan and temperature reaches 72 degrees C on load for an outside temperature of 25 degrees C, and 69 degrees C on idle , but I don't know how precise is this measurement. I am using a copper server socke...
