Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

Exact, it boils down to what your TV is able to handle on the HDMI, here is the full spec for THIS particular TV:

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

So we're back to 15khz then? So a monitor with both VGA and DVI that can only display ST-High through VGA will also only display ST-High through DVI with this converter? Surprisingly, not necessarily. Actually all my monitors are taking the High-Res Monochrome VGA but none are taking the Low or Med...

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

StEeLz, what was the LCD TV used for testing? Obviously, this trick works only on some TVs. :-( TV used is the Sharp LC-22LS510UT Could you run evils 50Hz test and share the result? That would be nice. We yet have to see a 50hz capable cheap Scart/HDMI converter. I have actually ran the flicker tes...

Re: Atari ST to Commodore 1084s monitor

Hi everyone,

I just helped a friend rewire a cable, but was a tad different than the one from the original post.
His screen wouldn't take the Composite as a Sync signal so we had to wire it with RGB+HV.
Schematic is as follow and works a treat:

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

Hey ho guys. So I can talk a little about the SCART to HDMI converter that you bought. That box has to be open source, because I have bought two of those things and all of the inners were completely different. Below is a post I made demonstrating a mod I needed to make to make RGB work with the con...

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

I think you're missing the point; ST RGB out is 15.5 kHz horizontal frequency, "normal" VGA is 31 kHz or above. For the same reason that the most modern tft screens won't display 15.5 kHz, many converters won't do it either. Sometimes the hardware supports the low frequency, but the softw...

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

All right, first of all, thanks you all for the valuable comments. I was not expecting this thread to revive after all these years. It seems most of you were concerned about the ability to render 50/60Hz properly, I must admit I didn't plan this, my main concern was to be able to plug some modern TV...

Re: RGB to HDMI does this work with a ST

Hi everyone, I also wanted to try connecting my ST on some modern display. I bought and tried various SCART->HDMI solutions and made a quick video to show the results. I compared the different models, and shared my findings to the community: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c25dlHFW584 Only based on ...

Re: Automation project with an ST

Also, what do you mean by bootstrap process? Not sure I've ever encountered that terminology with Arduino. If it is just about booting, I guess I could leave a floppy with the compiled PRG in an AUTO folder to get it loaded automatically (or even create a cartridge to store the PRG on some kind of a...

Re: Automation project with an ST

Wow you guys are great! Where could I found existing resources? I guess that would start by locating which ports are available on the //, how to set them as Input or Output and what gcc and libraries are used? Definitely for educational purposes, I just think it would be funnier to use an Atari than...

Automation project with an ST

Hi everyone, I would love to use an Atari ST as a "Microcontroller" just like an AVR (Arduino), but with a screen and graphical controls. My programming level is fair in multiple languages, but my concern lies in the hardware feasibility. I am not sure if we can use any of the parallel por...

Re: ST Model comparison

Thanks everyone, great feedbacks! Maeke, I remember having a [Monitor Out] --> [Peritel] cable back then that connected my childhood MegaST to the family TV though. Not sure if it was a genuine Atari part or some homemade stuff but image was quite neat, better than any modulator output I've seen so ...

Re: Req : Storm Master (save game just before PW if there's...)

Hey Maartau,

I used to play StormMaster as a kid, I don't think I ever really understood the gameplay, I was mostly enjoying the great graphics :p
However, when is the PW request happening? Never had it.
I'll try it again tonight actually, let me know what we are supposed to do!
Cheers, B.

ST Model comparison

Hi everyone, I recently acquired a few units, and I am having internal dilemmas. I would like to only keep the 2 most valuable ones and sell the others but I would like to have your insights. To you, which units have the most collector/overall value? Here are the systems I just got : 520 STm - 1 Meg...

IKBD on Atari 520st (18 pin connector)

Hi everyone! I have everything up and running on my Atari 520st (early model, external Floppy). I know the disclaimers said it wouldn't work because the early TOS 1.00 and the buggy filesystem handling BUT it works like a charm, even better if you are loading SELTOS and loading a TOS 1.04 or 2.06 on...
