Re: Disk Repair Tools ST

Thanks Charles! I included Diskedit in my attempts. But no luck so far, the disc seems unreadable. Both the boot sector and FAT seems screwed beyond repair. I have managed to make an PASTI image of it without any read errors, but of course the image isn't possible to open either. Almost all my other...

Re: Disk Repair Tools ST

Thanks AtariFan! I do understand some German, so will hopefully be able to make sense of the program. Will give it a try.. in fact I am setting up right now :). Cross your fingers guys! There's a useful program called Disk Workshop II for repairing disks (in German). It is available on cover disk 6/...

Re: Paul Woakes

I think I only ever played the demo of Damocles. I think there was a time limit or something, otherwise you were free to explore the world. I was amazed by the fact I could fly from planet to planet and explore it in its entirety! It also made me so exited about the future of the gaming industry and...

I had no idea! Very sad news! RIP Mr Woakes! I had actually been considering to try and find him and conduct an interview with him, but that will sadly never happen now :(

Re: Disk Repair Tools ST

Thanks ggn and Mug UK! Will give Trans D-Bug express a try as a last attempt. I do have two floppy drives, but my external one is not working. No power, don't know if its the brick or the drive that's the problem, should really attempt to fix it. Would Knife ST work with an HD? I have a Unicorn USB ...

Disk Repair Tools ST

I have now transferred most of my old ST disks, with the aid of a Unicorn, about metric ton of stubbornness and a bit of patience on top of that. :D Hopefully I will be able to upload some missing stuff to the archives soon... However I have couple of disks that wont open due to errors on the origin...

Re: Fullscreen GUI missing

Yeah, I saw that he closed his homepage and moved to Sourceforge. But I though he would still hang around here. Maybe we should add a sticky message to the STEEM support section about this? Thanks for the info. Steven Seagal has moved away from the forum and is "living" on SourceForge now:...

Fullscreen GUI missing

I recently updated my NVIDIA drivers to 390.65 and now the fullscreen GUI has gone missing in STEEM. I have this problem in 3.9.1, 3.9.3 and 3.9.4. When I stop the emulator in full screen mode the menu is not there, its just black. I can still click on it though and it responds, its just hard to cli...

Re: Incorrect screen size in Shadow of the Beast

I think maybe the game is switching between low res and med res; the picture is low res and scrolling text is med. In that case shouldn't this be considered a bug? Or am I just missing something :) ...

Re: Incorrect screen size in Shadow of the Beast

The crisp setting is indeed set, but not quite sure why that should cause this. But I am no expert :). I just realised that my 3.7.3 version is DirectDraw and as I said there it works like its supposed to. The other versions are using D3D ... and D3D is driving me bonkers right now!

Incorrect screen size in Shadow of the Beast

I just ran into a somewhat odd problem in STEEM. I was doing some recording of Shadow of the Beast and oddly enough the load screens with the scrolling text is in the wrong size. The rest of the game is fine, but the load screens are smaller, in full screen mode at least. Haven't had time to toy aro...

Re: STEEM D3D Blit Error with Mirillis Action

The sound problem usually fixes itself after a couple of minutes or so. But I will try the start and stop method next time. I saw that you had relesed 3.9.4, just haven't had time to test it yet. Saw that you hade made it possible to recover from "Blit errors" ... so maybe that could be he...

I came across my audio problem again in STEEM 3.9.3, hasn't happened for quite some time. Since I promised to upload the audio the next time I encountered it, here's a link Steven : http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=53237284481820282895

Re: STEEM D3D Blit Error with Mirillis Action

Thx. In what version does it become a problem? 3.9.2? Do you also have the problem without option 'C2'? Does the current 3.9.4 beta make a difference? I believe it was in the version were you introduced the higher frequencies, was it 3.9.1? I don't quit remember the exact version number. But of the...

Re: STEEM D3D Blit Error with Mirillis Action

That's fine too. When you select 384Khz, Windows probably limits SR to 200Khz. With the new anti-aliasing filter, it's not necessary to go so high anyway, 44.1Khz is OK now. Maybe you will have less crackling so. I have tried changing the frequency to various values including 44.1KHz and also messe...

Re: STEEM D3D Blit Error with Mirillis Action

Precisely, what are your sound options? Is it with/without options Sound/Sampled YM2149 and SSE/C2? Is the ST accelerated? Does it happen in monochrome, colour, STE, STF? To be honest, sometimes I have crackling too, after some stop and start, and the only cure is reset the ST. Haven't figured out ...

Re: STEEM D3D Blit Error with Mirillis Action

I got curious and tried running 3.9.3 on my Win 8 laptop with Action running in the background. I don't get a Blit Error any more here, nor does the emulator window freeze in full frame mode. But there is still something rotten in the state of Denmark. When I pause emulation in full screen mode and ...

Re: STEEM D3D Blit Error with Mirillis Action

I tried "run as administrator", didnt make any difference sadly. I suspect the problems lies with Action, NVIDIA drivers or Windows... or maybe all three of them. I might contact Mirillis and see what they say. I was just curious to hear what you thought of the problem... BTW just noticed ...

Re: STEEM D3D Blit Error with Mirillis Action

When I disabled "Window Borderless Mode" it almost seemed like it was working, but nope, same thing again after a while. I don't really want to disable fullscreen gui, because I need that when recording. If the window gets minimized the recording usually screws up...
