Re: Arcade cores

It means you could change it in the source code (file Dkong_top.v) and then do a compilation of the .rbf yourself.
So you can if you can :)

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

How does one change the info on the different config files in the OSD for this core? All configuration entries now look the the same. Before there were numbers. Do I have to manually edit the minimigX.cfg files? Which bytes to edit?

Re: ao486

Maybe down-clocking could be arranged for those early title. But again - I am not the target audience for this :)
Take a look at the following link - those tsr programs could serve your need for slowness.

Re: Ghosts'n Goblins on MiST

This is what I get on VGA (no support for YPbPr Cable :( ) GnG_MiST.jpg Have you tried with the rom file I provided? I get the same picture with the rom file you provided. As written before, your python script for building a rom doesn't work. I got it to work now (normal vga). The rom was the culpr...

Re: ao486

OK, I got DOS 6.22 installed and created a 2GB VHD for the DOS partition. I copied over a bunch of old DOS game directories and things load great right off. BUT, everything runs too fast! Is this like DOSBox where you have to slow the core down somehow for the older titles? Never noticed the too fa...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

No worries  I expected limitations here. I just wanted to push it to the limit :) Anyhow just as a background for those interested - it is not only about sampling frequency as far as I know. It is also about number and length of the samples. So more can give you a more accurate representati...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I did some more tests. Great stuff so far... Would be nice to be able to switch gm soundfonts from within a core - so far I created shell scripts that can be executed from menu core and modify the MidiLink.ini. I tested the following sf2 SC-55.sf2 (original set - 130 MB) 32MbGMStereo.sf2 (32 MB - So...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

Ok - I tried to get midi running but failed. No "internal" midi sound. Guess I will have to wait until you update the wiki. It looks like everything is running but I can see in htop that multiple instances of fluidsynth and mt32d spawn. Is this behavior expected? Should it be just one? Di...

Congrats on the progress guys!
I will test it soon. - to my knowledge this kind of hybrid emulation using only one board is unprecedented. Great to see this develop this quickly. :D

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

I guess not everybody tests all kickstart versions all the time. Most use hdds and therefor cannot use the real old kickroms. FWIW, though the process is a bit convoluted, you can patch 1.3 to use the A600 IDE drivers. I've done this to get a bootable 1.3 partition on MIST and MiSTer. I did not kno...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Your "test build" of Minimig works as normal (loading ADFs), just did some preliminary tests with kickstart 1.2, 1.3 Still I wonder why only a few were effected. I guess not everybody tests all kickstart versions all the time. Most use hdds and therefor cannot use the real old kickroms. A...

Great find. Yes - it is a combination of MiSTer (binary) and Kick.rom (pre-2.04) that stops adfs from being recognized.

Your test MiSTer binary solves the issue.

Mabe try vscale_mode=1 in the Mister.ini

I had issues with other cores displaying black image that where switched to the new scaler.

However, Adf loading still works for me :)

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I would love to jump in and start trying some of this stuff out, but after skimming through the midilink read me it's unclear to me if any hardware is required for this apart from what the title of this thread suggests. Will this work with the audio coming out via hdmi? For external midi modules to...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I don't think I've left anything out of the instructions, however they are complicated and there is the possibility of someone sourcing the wrong ROMS or a broken soundfont, so I would recommend using the installer script. http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=117&t=35031#p363040 I do not ...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

OK So I did some testing a again. I am really impressed. The General Midi emulation on the ARM side is perfect. MT32 is also impressive. Also I see MUNT uses more resources on the ARM side. This in combination with General Midi being nicer makes MT32 a though sell :-P - I love it. I used an el cheap...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

Ok - I figured it out now ... I will test some of my usb devices and will look for any trouble. I do not know were the real problem was yet. Maybe I used incorrect MT32 rom files... mt32d was not starting up. after I switch the rom files and MT32d started it began to work. Also FluidSynth works. I s...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I did some testing tonight - external midi devices work as normal (using MLINK-38K option) - However I could not get the USB dongle to output any beep... I plugged in a usb sound device that I know works with linux (also dmesg shows no problems) - However, I do not get any additional menu entries. M...
