HDDriver 10.12 + UltraSatan + Linux = Funky partitions?

So I'm trying to prep two 2GB SD Cards on my Mega STe. I loaded up HDDriver from disk, went about partitioning, used 'Split' and selected 4 partitions, on the compatibility I selected TOS (Windows is already checked) and hit Okay to partition. First time I did it, it seemed to create the partitions,...

Re: CrazyDots

Ha, always wanted a CrazyDots card, ended up getting a Spektrum card and am in the process of getting it working, but to be fair I do have a Mega STe and TT, so could use another.

Definitely more useful in the TT with all the extra RAM and speed!

Re: Thunder Storm IDE/Fastram Interface for Atari TT

So my TT030 currently has 2mb onboard, with 2mb expansion (ST RAM), the Storm (64mb) (haven't installed Thunder yet), an Ultra Satan and TOS 3.06 (the one from ThunderStorm that's modified, I didn't put the other one back in. Now as far as I know, in the Mega STe the dip switch on the motherboard is...

Re: SPEKTRUM V1.0 Graphics Card Driver Disks found!

So I just managed to get one of these, and I looked all over for the drivers, then found this! Unfortunately I still can't manage to get it to work. So my thoughts are this; A) my TT needs a recap (or other repairs) because it's been kind of flaky lately and been causing bombs randomly. B) It's frea...

Re: [SOLD] Atari Falcon 030 + 14 MB + 4 GB Compact Flash

Whenever I see a Falcon fir Sale I think "I could use another one!" But then I hope that someone will pick it up and write software for it. I know the usual motivator for selling them is usually money, or lack of time, interest, wives, girlfriends, etc. But it would be nice when the hardwa...

Yes. You need a monitor that can handle 15khz VGA.

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

I wasn't talking about running Firefox on the TT That's hardly possible ;) Not only because of the speed, but also because a lot of the required libraries (like gtk) are missing. Also, the memory usage of Firefox is *MASSIVE*. On a Linux box it uses around a gigabyte of virtual memory after just st...

Re: Armour - Geddon rebalancer?

Loved this game, and have recently been thinking about how to hack it. Dont the trainers let you turn on / off different features individually, one of them being infinite fuel? I suppose you aren't asking for infinite. To be honest I only tried the proper game without trainers a few times. I rememb...

Re: SMSPlus for the Atari falcon

I was thinking something along the lines of the Spectre GCR and how it works (though I guess that's mostly just mac roms.) Yep. No Z80 in there. Also emulating a 68k mac is basically a case of patching the ROMs and virtualising supervisor mode. It's a lot trickier to re-use the 68k CPU in e.g. a Me...

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

Actually since Debian/m68k is dead I think the most up to date platform is NetBSD. Debian/m68k is not dead, they're still building packages: https://buildd.debian.org/stats/graph-ports-week-big.png https://buildd.debian.org/stats/graph2-ports-big.png Yeah, so from my understanding, m68k Debian is w...

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

Sweet, let me know how it runs. Seems to me to be the way to keep a system up to date the most. I think at some point I had thrown around the idea about seeing if people wanted to get some brains together and build out a MiNT/Debian distribution. They already have it so you can swap out the Linux ke...

Re: SMSPlus for the Atari falcon

The Mega Drive contains a Z80 as well as a 68000. It could be within reach for a 060 class machine, but I can't see a generic emulator happening for a stock 68030 falcy. "just" running the 68k code natively is not necessarily an easy task either. I wonder if something like a Z80 in a cart...

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

Probably you'll be rather disappointed. The X-Windows protocol was fine when the average Motif application consisted of a handful of buttons and pulldowns. Modern applications (like e.g. Firefox) are worlds apart and way off the capabilities of your TT to be usable (even slow on modern machines and...

Re: Atari TT030 and system V

I think the very first time I ran X11 was on my Mega STe, in all it's glory I didn't have enough memory to do much more than get the X on the screen. I actually think that was one of the driving factors of me getting a TT030, but I didn't do that until a few years later, and never got around to act...

Re: Atari TT030 with additional hardware

if you'd be willing to split the Spectrum VME out, I might want that. There is someone I work with who was looking at getting a TT, but I think he was budgeting out 800 or so? Though if this comes with the ET4000, not sure how much he'd go beyond that.

Re: TT030 clone - is it possible ?

I would think Falcon as a base is a better idea as well, simply because of the updated TOS, ability of custom video modes, DSP, etc. If the bus and CPU speed of the original Falcon hadn't been handicapped, it would have made an awesome workstation system. If the software didn't utilize the DSP, the...
