Re: Tempest 4000 on PC....oh dear

Bought Tempest 4000 on PC yesterday (on the day of release), sad to say it's not what I was hoping for, lack of control choices and general shoddy conversion to PC platform. What on Earth are you talking about? Both txk and t4k were developed on PC so it's not a conversion! I did read though that i...

Re: Tempest 4000 on PC....oh dear

The reviews basically say if you've not played anything since Space Giraffe then it's cool (but pricey) but if you played TxK on any platform it is little more than that game re-branded. Anyone played Polubius PSVR? I haven't played it in VR, but I do have a 3D TV and it is pretty amazing there (of...

The answer is yes! Granted I only loaded it up and loaded a .mid file and listened to my keyboard use it. But it sure seems to work. (tested with Cubase 3.01 in 1024x768@256)

Re: Tempest 4000 on PC....oh dear

Anyone know if/when the Linux port is going to be released? How is it fairing on other systems? I am still waiting for a port of Polybius, which is practically the same as Tempest anyhow.

Re: CosmosEX 3.0

I'd like to have one of these for my Falcon. However, according to the website there is only cabling for internal SCSI. I'd like it external. Does anyone know how to get hold of a SCSI cable that fits the Falcon external connector and CosmoSex 3? I have one, it is rainbow colored. I could sell it t...

Re: Gerbers for TT?

Yeah, the new Amiga boards are mainly for salvaging components from dead boxes due to cap and battery leaks. Luckily Atari did not use sub-standard components. ,) ha ha! My one thought on this is the NVRAM, not that it leaks or causes issues itself, but some have done Very Bad Things™ to their moth...

Mostly dead Falcons.

How many of the chips could we still get? Maybe the DSP? Not sure about 030s (seems at one point they were much easier to source over 060s)

The rest of them... no clue!

If I get time tonight, I need to swap the 3.06 TOS chips back in, then I'll give it a shot. Any particular cubase version? I could even hook up my crappy MIDI keyboard!

I got it from Rustynutt, and I think it's the one lower than that, but it says in the docs that you can upgrade these, I'm assuming if I could find the correct ram chips.

Re: Tool to dump STe ROM?

Here we go. Nice. Funny enough the zip file is only 5KB larger than the other one. Lots of space for improvements? :P Yes, that was to be expected. From the last 256K, only ~25K are actually used. Wow, talk about a huge waste of ROM space! Then again the update from x.05 and x.06 was pretty decent....

Re: F030 RTC/NVRAM replacement kit

Yikes! By the way 'falcon didn't boot' sometimes is because it is trying in RGB mode, if I recall. Pretty sure someone will correct me on that. But there was a disk image that I saved to floppy that was supposed to clear the nvram so it would have a safe default.

I have just made a video to demonstrate the usage of PaCifiST's DUMP_ROM.PRG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXLdPy8eqEg Maybe some day AtariZoll's TOSDUMP1.TOS will have a nice UI and will become the new standard  GUI, come on man ! Re: Wanted TOS 3.05 SPANISH.

Ha, you are right, for some reason I was think8ng the older STs had 128k ROM and the TT is 256k. But I think that was the early Macs. TT should have 512k and ealier ones were 256k. Good thing I didn't already swap back the 3.06 ones I got for the Thunderstorm. If we can find a working dumper, I will...

Here it is.

Sysinfo said it's build date was 5/12/90, the label on the chips themselves say 12/7/90.
