Re: Help me identify old ST game

http://www.mobygames.com/game/atari-8-bit/power-down According to mobygames, it was only released for the 8-bit. So what you're saying is someone SHOULD remake it for the ST/e? :)

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

A bit of an announcement. And, I’ll probably start a new Atari project or two. When the Swedish cold, long winter sets in. Winter is coming.... So I think the problem with my 8bit/vbxe output is probably there just isn't a way to adjust the rgb on it like there is for the GBS-8220. May have to figu...

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Ought to. If there’s syncs on the same pins. If it doesn’t, plug it into an ST, set it to low res and hold the button for 3 seconds, it’ll save low res as default at power on. Finally got the VBXE home safe and sound. Sadly all I get from the Dell 2001FP when I plug it into the VBXE board is 'Can n...

Re: e2fsck - no progress shown

Thanks for the explanation, I wasn't 100% sure if it was an Odd/Even Dev/Stable type release like the Linux Kernel used to be. So 1.18 is stable, 1.19 dev branch, 1.20 stable, etc. Whoa, see I thought I'd read and seen mass storage working on the NetUSBee, but have yet to get it working myself, Hell...

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

Mega computers, the monitor itself is in the way. With the external connector one can place a button on the side of the computer for easier reach. PAL/NTSC: not feasible. At least not without adding extra hardware. :) So.. version 1.2? :) Always thought it would have been nice if there had been a s...

Re: e2fsck - no progress shown

I need to work out why my e2fsck isn't working.

But on that note, is there a point in time when a 1.20 version of FreeMiNT is released? Just curious, I would love to contribute if I could code worth a damn.

Re: My new, compact Atari -> VGA adapter.

What is the button for so it would specifically be good for Mega STe owners? You know what would be a nice edition, a PAL/NTSC switch, though I don't know how feasible that is. Or if it is even needed for VGA output.

And I don't have any Atari (very, very sad story and I'm still incredible nervous about that   ), so I need to run every program on , at least, 3 emulators - Tos2Win, STEmulator and Magic PC and, of course, Aranym with many different setups - N.AES, Geneva, MagiC, with or without NVD...

Re: Still commercially / supported / developed software?

Hendrik should contact HiSoft and 16/32 since he (and Uli) probably would release Papyrus as freeware. There can not be newer version of Papyrus for TOS (latest is 10) since they move from TOS based libraries to Qt for Windows, Mac and Linux version (they use custom TOS libraries until version X fo...

Re: Still commercially / supported / developed software?

Papyrus: I asked Hendrik Ramps to release Papyrus as freeware for TOS since they do not sell anymore Papyrus for Atari ST and he wrote me: "As for the Atari ST version, we couldn't officially make it free at the moment - we just don't know the right implications that would follow, especially a...

Re: The game is on (can we make MiNT/TOS this pretty?)

That is one thing the Amiga has never been surpassed in, Icons. The way they were handled from even the earliest days of workbench, was extremely customizable with no single size standard. Though again, this is a good and bad thing.

Re: The game is on (can we make MiNT/TOS this pretty?)

I am unsure that we will have the ability to make the Atari look like the Amiga Desktops. Good grief. Who would want to do that? One thing that is wonderous about Atari ST Desktops vs Amiga is how directories work. The fact that each folder opens a new window on the Amiga is both useful and annoyin...

Could you add a brief description of these in the original post? It would be helpful for people who don't know what these all do. Like I have no idea what Smurf or Scripter do.

But this is awesome. I started a thread in the opposite direction, asking for programs that are still being developed.

(sorry to be out of topic) Oh, I guess Vincent's Repo isn't updated with GCC7 yet then? Not yet. I will integrate other people's efforts on m68k-atari-mint GCC 7 when it's mature. Currently I only provide GCC 4.6.4, that one has been stable for years. Granted last time I tried compiling something (...

Indeed! That'd mean I have 10 wives. Now if only I could figure out how to get them to reproduce... have little baby Pokeys and Freddies and GLUEs and Blitters running around.

The ST line needed to follow the naming schemes of old Atari....

It is too bad it wasn't a uuniversal modulator. Then it would be the STFUM. :p
