Re: MIDI Hardware/Software recommendations?

I should get back to this soonish, I ordered a new UltraSatan, then just sort of stopped working on it as I had other projects. Ordered a Roland SC88Pro, not sure what I can use that for on the Atari, but I think it should be pretty sweet for games.

Re: My game room

Ha, maybe once I get my Falcon and A4000 systems sorted and set up correctly, I'll take a pic of my game room, though those go into the RPG/Tabletop room in the corner, my other game room is where I eventually will get my 8bits and various STs set up.

Re: Solution to stripped plastic posts! (one that doesn't suck as much as epoxy+teflon)

I'm glad my suggestion worked for a few people. Seems like it's just the easiest solution, and extremely easy to make it look nice. Granted now I also have a 3D printer to build up some things with.

Re: The game is on (can we make MiNT/TOS this pretty?)

Ha, so the main thing I was thinking wasn't so much things like MUI, which will let you tweak all sorts of UI elements. I was thinking the useful things, like the Dock (which I have seen one for Atari, at least the 'start bar' style ones), a clock, etc. Actually some of the stuff in the aranym image...

Re: "Atrennate Reality - The City" that works?

Probably best to ask this one on Atari Age, more 8bit users over there. Or in the MiST subforum here.

I could try pulling my MiST out and try it on there, I think it requires 48kb of ram for AR: The City, and I know at least the Dungeon will use up to 128kb.

Re: CT60e, Not measuring up.

It takes two hours to print one on my small printer, so there will be no big production run here :D I could make a few though. I'll announce it here when/if I do. So it also takes two hours to print on my printer. :P Now that I've printed it, trying to figure out where I need to use all the bits. H...

Re: Ultima III that Works?

Ha, this reminds me of Ultima IV on the 8bit. If you just copied the disk, it'd skip a track of essentially bad sectors, and if that track was empty, you'd get 'orc is lightly wounded' no matter how many times you hit that orc, it'd always be lightly wounded. The best is still Alternate Reality, whe...

Nice! Wasn't sure if the DVI was dual-link or single-link on the SV. Ha, 2560x1440 for an Atari would be insane.

Re: 1920x1200? Rotation?

Makes sense. Is there room for a 1920x1200 resolution? Or is the maximum possible 1920x1080? Pretty sure the DVI Spec will go high enough.

nah enough junk in the man cave. Ha, can never be enough junk in the man cave! Re: Atari file system support for Linux ?

Yeah, just my advice, when transferring large images, connect to the back motherboard ports of USB, I don't know what it is, but the front ports of every case seem to be worthless. Not sure if it's the cables that connect to the motherboard, or some voltage drops or what... To be fair, the hard driv...

Re: MIDI Hardware/Software recommendations?

I haven't had time to do much, I did test some redraws and such, Cubase on the TT with the Spektrum seems to either look great, or absolutely terrible, dependent upon what phase the moon is at, or the minute of the hour that I start it. I need to work out all the SCSI connections, last time I was tr...

ha, All error dialogs should be like that. One of my favorite errors has been 'something has gone terribly wrong.' i think that was in some open source service, can't recall which though.

At least it didn't sacrifice a child, like out of memory killers always do.

Re: Dual monitor setup?

Thanks for the info. Do you know if medium resolution will work on the 2412 monitor? I'm thinking I could live with that over mono as the picture is still pretty good. Yes, seems like it's able sync to 15kHz horizontal and 50Hz vertical, so low and medium resolutions should be OK. Give it a go. Ada...

What I want to see is if they can put 1GB of RAM into a TT, if they can then load enough software to make it run out of RAM. I have 256MB in the TT and 512MB in my Falcon though :P

Re: Atari file system support for Linux ?

Am I right - reading and writing back images failes with your tests? The Linux version (Windows version too) should be able to read or write back a block device image flawlessly - these functions don't care about content, partitions, file systems or somewhat. In case of my Linux-Notebook writing of...

Just to add to this, my OSSC was used on the STe and got a perfectly (well stretched) widescreen picture on my 55" TV. But also I have my Jaguar and Sega Genesis/CD hooked up through SCART on it. Overall, an excellent piece of hardware.
