Or are they.

I get the impression that parts of the sources are withheld to avoid "public conflict"?

Is there a video of Win98 booting on the MiSTer somewhere, for comparison? :)

Or use a mode with same ratio as your monitor. Remember that original Amiga icons were not displayed 1:1, but rather for PAL 5:2 (hires 620x256) or 5:4 (hires laced 640:512) stretched to a fit a 4:3 TV, NTSC is a tad better with actual 4:3 (or 8:3) ratio :) The OS3.5+ icons were made for RTG and 1:1...

I keep wondering why people want Multiscan modes... but then I remember that I use MagicTV on my 4 bit-plane PAL Hires Laced Workbench setup, lol :)

Re: Building Linux kernel

https://github.com/kowoba/Linux-Kernel_MiSTer_build Thank you for you efforts. Basically it works. Probably few things to polish: 1) Exclude kernel compilation into Docker image build phase And build the entire kernel everything from scratch every time, for minor kernel changes? Kinda what I want t...

Re: Internet and Linux Shell for Amiga and ao486

For me, Roadshow worked right away, with the installation I already had from the MiST where the disk image came from. I only changed baud rate for the "dial script" from 57600 (on the MiST) to 115200 on the MiSTer, and enabled RTS/CTS.

https://github.com/kowoba/Linux-Kernel_MiSTer_build I don't think anyone else has used my docker yet, but nevertheless, I have fixed on it a bit, and updated the README accordingly. Next project is to make a similar docker for building custom user-land images (I have needs and wishes that are outsid...

Re: Building Linux kernel

Looks like the socfpga_cyclone5_de10_sockit.dtb is now socfpga_cyclone5_de10_nano.dtb? At least that is what I use. Anyways, since I am doing small changes to the kernel config and need to recompile it every now and then (and because I tend to use macs as build systems these days), I just as well ma...

Re: Internet and Linux Shell for Amiga and ao486

Probably beyond that would be the NE2000 network board which is very well supported both Amiga and DOS platforms. I doubt its relatively easy though... The most obvious would perhaps be to mimic the PCMCIA slot of the A600 and A1200, with an NE2000 card yes. I'm not sure where on the chipset the PC...

I have an IO board, but to be honest I have not used it for anything than enjoying the Blinkenlichten :) Silly question I'm sure - is there some user guide somewhere, something that explains what the ports, jumpers, pins and jumper are there for, and how to use them? Can for example the A1200 LED co...

Better keep the UART for serial console, and rather implement something ethernet alike between the Amiga and the Linux side.

Re: Internet and Linux Shell for Amiga and ao486

UART console mode is designed exactly for connection from core to Linux without using PPP layer. Sure, but that's not what I want to do. I only use the console mode for debugging purposes, but you can always use DigNet (http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/DigNet) or rxserial (http://aminet.net/pack...

Re: Internet and Linux Shell for Amiga and ao486

I don't understand the purpose. You don't need to copy anything. Just use terminal app on Amiga and connect to Linux side. In OSD just switch UART to Console mode. Well, I said that this probably isn't interesting for other people... I want much more than just a console on the Linux :) * dual-stack...

Re: Internet and Linux Shell for Amiga and ao486

I don't know how interesting this is for other people... I just copied over telnetd and xinetd with friends from a pi to the Linux side (and I had to replace the /bin/login binary with a symlink to busybox), and now I can telnet into the linux side from the Amiga, and from there ssh to the big bad w...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

So, do not use HDF extension if it's non-Amiga disk. Hm, but hdf extension is needed for files to even show up in the Select disk image menu, no? I once requested that this menu should also show .iso files, but it never happened, so my ISOs are named .iso.hdf currently :) EDIT: Oh, I see now... - M...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Virtual RDB is not a new thing. It was there since beginning and applied to all non-RDB disks. And since there in no RDB header exist there will be default names of disks DH0/DH1 depending on drive number. That's interesting, I suppose it is not like that on the MiST though? I jumpstarted my usage ...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

I don't think "virtual RDB" is a good thing at all, or at least it should be optional when attaching an image as hard drive. It's not just MBR, people may want to use mac partitioned images with mac emulation, or other types of images to be read directly using other dedicated software.

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

If image has no RDB header, then MiSTer create a virtual RDB for this image. Yikes. I made a completely new disk image using dd on the MiSTer itself, used losetup to attach it to loop0, partitioned it with fdisk, DOS partition table (MBR) and one big primary partition type Win95 FAT32 (type "b...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Release 20180509 of MiSTer from today, says: - Minimig HDD: fixes for high capacity image (>8GB) support. This seems to affected my setup so that the slave device, which typically is a 1,8GB RDB disk image, now shows up in HDToolBox as "DON'T REPARTITION", and its one 1,8GB partition shows...
