Any that use TRAP #1 can be made to run from the h/drive - they are (to me) the easier ones to get working. DMA etc you should look to Klaz and CJ. Superior (on their FOF menus) also released their own low-level h/driver which allowed certain games they released to be run from the h/drive. As I rem...

Re: Can't execute C:\FFLS_HDD.SYS!

You should try setting the memory to 2MB or 4 MB and it should work OK. This FFLS_HDD.SYS is a driver file for SCSI/ACSI-drives (IIRC) on an original (!) Atari ST(e) hardware. I wouldn't like to run that on an emulator, unless of course the SCSI/ACSI-controller emulation is perfect on STeem... regar...

Re: Blue Max

Unfortunately there is no such thing as Blue Max cartridge for the Atari ST-range of computers. Maybe on XL?

IIRC there were 2 modes in Ice decrunch; one that decrunched the data in A0 and the other that decrunched the data from A0 to address at A1. If you are using the wrong mode (or source?), then the compressed data is decompressed to A0 and not A1 as intended(?). The other thing is:    movea.l   #$...

CT60 patch MonTT v.3.10

Hi there, If you have CT60 for Falcon, then you've probably noticed that basically no 030 debugger/monitor software doesn't work. Sure there is this internal debugging info about d-, a- and other registers, but this just isn't enough... Tried everything from Devpac to Turbo Assembler, Pure Debugger ...

Calamus lite 2002 seems to be demanding quite a lot from a machine: (http://www.atari-workshop.co.uk/products/calamus_2002.htm) TOS: All current TOS systems (Atari TT, Falcon, Hades, Milan, etc.) as well as their derivatives and emulations (STEmulator, MagiCPC, etc.). Hardware: At least 20 MB hard d...

You can most probably run ST emulators STeem, SainT, STew, Winston and such with P 75 MHz if you have enough memory and a proper graphics card (with a case of SainT), but unfortunately not at full speed. I have P 200 Mhz MMX and it can barely run STeem at full speed, but obviously not without auto f...

Hello Mr Zorro 2 Unfortunately I know basically nothing about GFA-basic, so it might be difficult to make a decompression routine in GFA. Do you have routines to decompress f.ex. ICE or ATOMIK in GFA-basic? Or are they sort of EXTENSIONS, like used in STOS, that is assembler code, which is "called" ...

I was thinking of doing the same! I dis-assembled the UPX.TTP but it's an absolute nightmare! Written in "C" I think with lots of redundant code, I've not checked the depack code yet but I presume you've just disassembled the PRG depack header ? P.S. I hope your depack code does A0 = src & dest rat...

UPX, not only for executable files...

Hi, Maybe some of you have already heard about this UPX program, that is capable of compressing different executable formats, only executable formats, but with many platforms (Atari, PC, Linux etc.). This means that by using Atari you could compress, of course, Atari executables but also those of PC...

Re: Why is the backslash dead in steem v2.4

Hi Maverick, If you are using DevPac, then you would probably have an option for ASCII table under EDIT (or SHIFT+INS key combo), from where you can choose backslash or any other valid ASCII character for that matter. STeem is OK for compiling small sources, but with the longer sources you should co...

Re: Atari external hard drive question

a) Are these drives fairly resilient? That is, if I can find one, is it likely to still be useable, and not covered in bad sectors? What's about damage incurred by shipping? b) Are there any things I need to be aware of when using a hard drive with my ST? It's a 1040 STe, so I shouldn't expect to w...
