Re: Three Sparrow Mainboards on EBay

One of those boards, s/n ending 40 is listed in this thread here. I didn't check the others. Just thought this was interesting given the limited number of these that were supposed to have been produced (they're previously known/identified boards): http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=...

Re: Atari 8 bit emulator for the ST

ST XFormer, I see a copy at http://www.umich.edu/~archive/atari/Emulators/stxf255.lzh Never used it, don't know its status. I had it before... It's good for running Atari BASIC programs but way too slow for games. I used it to make some cool screens that I then put in DEGAS using a screen cap progr...

Atari 8 bit emulator for the ST

Is there an atari 8 bit emulator for the ST? I've searched but keep finding ST emulators instead.

Thanks!

Re: Web browsing with CosmosEx?

CE_STING.PRG was added to the Cosmosex config drive a few months back. If you run it to startup the STiNG driver, and then run an ST browser like CAB, you should be good to go. You'll need the OVL file to integrate with STiNG too. I tried it on my 1040 but get out of memory errors so didn't work for...

Originally via a printer port adapter, I believe, see thread here: viewtopic.php?t=20647

So if you plug in 4 USB joysticks via the Cosmosex does Gauntlet 2 see them as if they were connected via the printer port dongle?

Re: Were STEs produced in smaller numbers compared to STF/STFMs?

I had an STe back at the time and I never felt like I was getting anything better than the regular STfm. Well, the day that I expanded the memory to 1Mb I did enjoy a cheaper price because of the DIMM support on the board. To this day, I am still not sure I have ever played a game that used the bli...

Re: Atari Party of Davis, 2016

I wasn't able to make this year's party but was hoping to bring my 1040ST with Cosmosex too... hopefully will be able to make it for next year's party! (I think we might have already exchanged a few messages on the Davis Atari Party Facebook page?)

Re: Atari ST blue mouse mat graphics

I remember having one of these mousepads - did these come standard with the 520STFM or were they bundled in with a package? I think my ST came from Silica Shop - did they include one in their package that they sold?

Were STEs produced in smaller numbers compared to STF/STFMs?

I browse ebay now and again looking at retro hardware for sale, and while 520 and 1040STs come up pretty regularly (I picked up a 1040STF on ebay for a decent price), I don't think I've ever seen a STE for sale on ebay. Were they produced in much lower volumes compared to the original ST models?

Re: Atari cd collections online

archive.org have a 14GB zip download of their entire Atari ST collection - might be worth a look if you have the bandwidth to download something that large: https://archive.org/details/Atari_ST_TOSEC_2012_04_23

Didn't see this in the list already: archive.org has a large list of menu and magazine disks available: http://ia601602.us.archive.org/zipview. ... _04_23.zip

Re: Pros/cons of sd card as hd vs USB flashdrive as translated drive?

To get tos/dos partitions I'd to use either the hddriver or ppdriver though, right? I don't think the icd driver supports that type? I'll probably upgrade to ppdriver anyway, but to get up and running when my CE arrived yesterday I just grabbed icd as it was free.

Pros/cons of sd card as hd vs USB flashdrive as translated drive?

Got my CE today, very impressed so far! I'm using the ICD driver to get started, and have formatted an SD card into a number of partitions. Given that the ICD driver doesn't support tos/dos partitions, I inserted and mounted a dos formatted USB flashdrive too and was planning on copying some hd modi...

Re: CosmosEx - new device for your Atari ST

Ordered, thanks Jookie! Can't wait to try it out! I've been watching this project for a while after putting off thinking of getting a SatanDisk - for the price the CosmosEx is a great deal. Finally decided to jump in and get one :D
