Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem

Took a break from fpgagen development, so written a MiST top-level for KdL's OneChipMSX release (the same Sorgelig used for MiSTer): https://github.com/gyurco/MSX_MiST Need an SD-card with FAT16 formatting, and the first file must be the OCM-BIOS.DAT file. I found the BIOS loader very picky about t...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Ghouls'n Ghosts: very nice conversion from coin-op, interesting to compare with Anima's version for Atari ST on the choice of colours. comparing to PCEngine version it's poor. I believe it could be better if they would like to. If you compare PCE version with original arcade, then you usually need ...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

A port for the MiST is planned, but it's only available for MiSTer for the time being. Currently is not in any repository, see this thread: http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=117&t=34555

Wow! I even sold my Atari MegaSTe when I bought my MiST. Hope this core will be ported :D

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Excuse me if I write nonsense, , but the MegaDrive also has a Z80 CPU. Perhaps this is used in some games for the audio part. Could it be a problem related to the not perfect emulation of the Z80 or more simply a synchronism problem between the 68000 CPU and the Z80 ? It's something I thought this ...

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

Just a curiosity. Now Outrunners is playable again, it doesn't hang anymore, but title screen flashes a lot  .

Anyway, this core is getting better and better, and it sounds also very well!

Thanks very much for your great work!

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

It seems Lemmings 1 problem with half infopanel scrolling is unrelated to VDP hardware scrolling. It seems game uses DMA to transfer the whole play ground from 68K to VRAM. So, the problem is in DMA. Somehow it transfers more than required. But strange that it is perfectly scrolled. Maybe a horizon...

The target of this project is to show ability to code in HDL, not to make a working replica.
As a result - it's a core where only small part of VDP (just background) is implemented, none of audio.

Audio is working :)

Re: Genesis / Megadrive core ported to MiST

I just added a new release. The CPU core has been updated from the very old tg68 to the latest tg68k as used in the amiga and atari st cores. I actually don't see a difference but it may be useful to check the newer version in case of problems with the old one. Also the overall cpu speeds may diffe...

Gehstock, I appreciate your work, but well, MiST is not discontinued and abandoned, just the original developer and manufacturer, and if you see the Facebook group it has a big active user base, specially if you compare to MiSTer, for example.
