Re: Just got an STE, some issues

Not sure what you mean with "euro keyboard", as the STE was shipped with atleast six or seven (probably more) different keyboard layouts in Europe. PAL (might also be SECAM if your STE has a French keyboard) doesn't matter when you're using an RGB monitor, the only difference between US c...

Just got an STE, some issues

Hey there, after having my 1040STF for a couple of years I saw an auction for an STE that looked good and bought it. The seller was nice and threw in a few games, but when I got I discovered one big thing: The system is a PAL computer with a euro keyboard and my monitor and disk games are NTSC. This...

Re: The future of retro machines ?

I really shouldn't say accelerators are 'boring' I really appreciate all the work Exxos and others have been putting into them. I just wish it was easier to acquire them in the yanks-ville (aka the US)! I do ship them worldwide, so available anywhere. I need to double-check my motherboard is compat...

Re: The future of retro machines ?

Not only that, but I've seen the same argument repeated in different iterations on this board already. Give it a rest. My personal opinion is accelerator cards, beyond making it easier to adapter to modern screens via hdmi etc, are kind of 'boring'. I like to see these machines taken in other intere...

Re: Mega STe / TT Keyboard Membranes

I think a mylar/backplane with solder-able cherry mx switches would be the absolute best. I would swear off my Amiga forever if I could get my Atari going with a mechanical keyboard :) Mega ST keyboards have Cherry MX black keyswitches, and are interchangeable with the Mega STE/TT keyboards. I've c...

Re: The future of retro machines ?

I would like to help develop some new hardware, I don't really have the hardware to test new ideas on though. I've only got one stf and I'm not sure what it is that people want? I would like to do some sort of internal OPL synth that is soldered directly to the MIDI bus, similar to the Yamaha cx5m. ...

Re: The future of retro machines ?

My story is basically, my dad bought a C64 during their heyday and later an Amiga 2000. I have very early vague memories of playing Ghostbusters on the c64 and a lot of memories playing Shadow of the Beast, Dark Seed, etc. My dad eventually sold it for some boring ass compaq I did play many DOS game...

Re: WHERE TO BUY ST / FALCON / TT HARDWARE & SOFTWARE

I just talked to Bruce of B&C ComputerVision over the phone, really nice guy. Sounds like he's incredibly busy, it amazes me (in a good way) how relatively niche hardware manages to keep these Atari guys so busy :)

Atari TOS 1.04 inconsistencies?

In trying out the Serial Disk application Anima wrote, I noticed a few inconsistencies with my version of TOS. Namely: ⋅ Drag and Drop functionality doesn't work, I tried "Drag and drop" MFP.PRG onto SETTER.PRG to configure the driver, but it just gives me a copy dialog instead &...

Re: New program: "Serial Disk"

Hey Sascha, I'm trying to run this program on my computer, but I seem to be coughing up an invalid argument. I'm running: ./MonoSerialDisk.exe --port=/dev/ttyS0 --baud-rate=19200 ~/Dev/TEST However I'm getting: Serial Disk v1.0.5860.16760 Unhandled Exception: System.IO.IOException: Invalid argument ...

Has anyone had any luck with B&C Computervision lately? I haven't gotten any response from their email account and their ST page hasn't been updated in a year.
